41 days Tramadol & Codeine free, still full steam ahead!

Hello everyone.
I haven't posted for a while now because as an "angel" named Toothfairie stated...."I am living life!"
For the past week or so I have been going to work and returning straight to my old marital home (which I was kicked out of by my wife almost a year ago because of painkiller abuse) to work on the property before the summer,
Jobs like replacing 150ft of fencing, levelling ground for new turf, cleaning out the loft and outbuildings involving numerous trips to the tip with rubbish and old tat, but 30 days ago I was lucky if I could raise a smile yet alone a hammer because of my detoxing!
I also had no energy, drive, enthusiasm or interest in anything resembling "normal" behaviour for a human being,
But now I am back to the old me and I absolutely love it!
I beg anyone battling or considering battling Tramadol and or Codeine addiction to stay on the track ( yes it will be a little painful or traumatic if going cold turkey like I did) but at the end of the track is a beautiful highly taken for granted world ready to re-embrace again.
I was one of the lucky ones to eliminate my addiction, but with strength you can be the next.
Thank you for reading.
Richard

So happy for you.   I've had some bouts w anxiety.  But have passed some big tests here lately and feels like the anxiety is gone for now!  ;) day 25 for me and feels great.  It's amazing how much better I feel on the days I make myself wkout. I need to remind myself even if I don't feel like doing it (I need to ) for my sanity.  Lol

Thank you all for your encouragement and kind replies, it really means a lot to me.
My sleep pattern has returned back to normal, I still wake up at stupid o clock every morning but I put that down to getting up for work very early Monday to Friday.
I got all that was to be done yesterday completed including the tree root which took me 2.5 hours alone! It was a warm day all day and I made the mistake of working shirtless...a good idea at the time but today my entire upper body looks like its been painted red because of bloody sunburn!
Off to the coast after lunch with my boys, my oldest wants to bury me in the sand and my youngest wants to watch the wind turbines out at sea! (he has a thing for things that spin!)
Today is about playing not drilling, digging, hammering or struggling!!
Have a great day to each and every one of you awesome people!
Richard.

If this is the only way I can communicate w/ you - so be it! I just did my Wu Chi sets in the backyard (standing meditation/chi cultivation) and I feel it. It's amazing. I felt terrible this morning but this made all the difference. I almost feel high - like I could actually sleep tonight..Just awesome. May the Buddha bless you Richard. Thanks for the encouragement and the contact, mate.

The wind is howling in my sails propelling me forward at a fantastic rate right now, and there's no scurvy on this ship!!
You are correct I put this entire "miracle recovery" down to the teachings of Aikido, as I stated before "Aikido is my life and Aikido saved my life!"
How are things with you Evolver?

Thank you very much for your encouragement ricart.
If things are going to get any better they will be just short of euphoric as I feel on top of the world right now!
I'm on a one way street so looking or turning back is simply not an option.
I've fallen back in love with life!
Thank you so much again ricart.

Bravo Richard, on your 41days. So great to see you back. It's wonderful that your energy is returning so quickly. I chalk it up to your attitude/spirit & the Akido. You're a real asset to the site & fun to boot. It's good to know you're out there **** the 'right' thing. I find it comforting...Sail on!

Hiya Lisa.
I'm sorry you have to work this weekend, but if it's crap weather over there I guess you wouldn't mind as much?!  it's actually sunny and "warm" this morning (6 degrees C!) and all I want to do is sit in the garden with my iPod, a holiday brochure and a cup of tea but I've got 2 hopes of that happening...Bob Hope and no hope!
Well if you emit the fun and happiness you show on this forum to someone else over the weekend your certainly gonna make someone's day Lisa.
Your Brit mate.

Hiya Vickie.
I can't believe I have regained my energy level back so quickly, don't get me wrong by 8pm I am absolutely knackered and sometimes nod off when I put my little lad to bed, but 8hrs later I am back up ready for work then the day repeats itself again.I feel very lucky to feel complete again so quickly compared to others.
Me and my "wife" are getting on well at the moment, but there have been times when she would come out to see how I'm getting on and suggest different ways to do the things I'm doing......COUNT TO TEN RICHARD!!
Anyway it's day 42 and I'm going back there this morning to pull a great big old tree root out of the garden.
Not looking forward to that at all man!!
How are things with you Vickie?
