44 days clean but am having a slite problem
I went to the doctor today because of a nasty cold I've had since last week and it's just getting worse..anyways the doctor prescribed me with antibiotics and promithazine/codeine I haven't token the cough syrup knowing it contains opiates...what is an alternative do I really need this cough syrup to get better????

hey just wanted to inform and let you know i did not take the promithazine codeine i actually just threw it away!!! it was to much of a risk to take given my history with addiction right i shouldve known this!! anyways i just took some robatussin and the antibiotics seem to be doing fine also hot tea, and hot chicken soup :) I may not get any sleep but its worth not getting myself caught up in something worse!!
Omg yes...there was two nights where jeff and I just could sleep cuz we couldn't lay down...the coughing was horrendous. Use raw honey ...take spoonful and let it slide down throat..honey is natural antibiotic etc...it will help cough too. Yes Buckleys is OTC.
Yes the cough is terrible Ive completely lost my voice and can't sleep and I hate NyQuil :( Ive never tried Buckley's is that over the counter?? And I'm doing great besides this cough
...also....why does he think antibiotics will help a cold and flu? Jeeez doctors.......antibiotics kill.....everything doll.
..hey hon, IMO if it's a cold....there's nothing you can do about a cold or flu but,... "your time". Fluids, rest etc. it's s*cks...I've had this for a month now too. ,....the cough syrup.....opiates repress coughing.....do you have a bad cough? When hub and I were going through it....Buckleys and benlyn worked just as well. Hiw are you today?
