Thank you for all your advise! First I do need a blood work up, then find a therapist and exercise my butt off.
Yes, that nagging feeling of sadness, anxiety, fits of crying. I truly feel for you I know what it's lke. You should remind yourself constantly that you have made it through the ACUTE phase of the withdrawals. Now frustratingly enough, the residuals linger and you wonder just how long this will last....If you were using for 2 years, I would think you have about 6-9 months before you feel "great" again. My best advice, (and I know sometimes it sounds flippant and the last thing you want to do) is to EXERCISE! Start slow--walking, stairclimbing, push-ups, sit-ups, stretching, gentle yoga (hatha). If you walk 1/2 mile or climb 50 stairs, walk 3/4 or climb 60 the next day. This is the ONLY way to build your endorphin levels back up which will in turn increase your energy levels, stave off the depression, and help you detoxify more quickly. Remember: every time you sweat you are getting rid of all that residual **** in the body--not just the opioids but the preservatives and fillers that are in them. When opiates used to be natural and plant based the w/d's were rough but quick. Now prescription drugs, like our food in this country is filled with chemicals and preservatives. find a good natural health store and get some natural products for liver support, stay hydrated, eat a plant based diet, and I know if you have 40 or so days clean--you rock and can force yourself to make it through the rest. Force yourself to exercise and your body (muscles have memory) WILL heal. Best of luck and good for you--DO NOT GIVE UP!
It is normal if you had a history of depression before taking the drugs. Also, a lot of people mistakenly blame bouts of depression and panic attacks on their former drug use (legal or not) well after they're over withdrawals and PAWS (i.e. months or years later). Many forget that life still happens after you quit using and emotions take over. You have good days, great days, ok days, and bad days. Ask yourself if something happen in the last couple days that could cause such sadness. If your depression and sadness is out of control, in your opinion, definitely talk to your doctor about it. Talking to family and friends is also very therapeutic.
This is all too common. Look at the amino acid protocol in the health pages. If it (depression) gets too bad, go see the Dr.
