Just checking in.  Haven't been on in awhile. Doing ok but still suffering from bad depression.  I've been on an antidepressant for 2 months. I thought it was working at first but then all of a sudden it stopped working.  So starting today doctor has added abilify. Who knows maybe it will help. Hope so.

Oh on a very sad note, my sons very best friend since junior high passed away on the 4th of July. Unfortunately he was an addict/alcoholic. The cops had picked him up for public drunkenness and schedule 2 narcotics.  A few hours later he passed away in jail. His family tried everything to help him. They even did an intervention that cost 15, 000. But until someone is ready to quit no one can help them.
Please peeps that are still struggling.  Don't let this happen to you and especially your family.  This young man wasonly 34 and his family, especially his mother is devastated.

Thanks everyone.  I'm trying really hard this time to stay clean.
And vicki I thought of Chris as one of my children.
And my son is devastated.  He still cries. They were very close.

I will let you know about the abilify. I just started it tonight. If u do try it ask your doctor for samples. I went to pick up my RX and it was 800.00. Lol. Needless to say I didn't get the RX.

The story about your son's friend is so tragic and he must be devastated. I'm sure you're upset, as well. If you're like me, you were probably close to this friend. I adore the kids my daughter grew up with and I know how I would feel. So, I'm thinking about you and your son tonight...xo

Hi Dede! First, congrats on the 76 days.  Way to go!  I'm so sorry about your son's best friend.  That is so sad, especially someone so young. I hope your son will get through this ok.  It's so important for us all to remember how deadly this disease is.

Please let me know, if you don't mind, if the Abilify helps.  I've been taking an AD for about a year now, and like you, at first it seemed to work really well. But lately, I feel like it hasn't been helping much. I am considering asking my doctor about Abilify. So, I would be interested in knowing if it helps you.  Thanks, and take care!

Hey Dede, good to see you posting again. Congratulations on 76 days. Im sorry your still depressed and your son lost his best friend. This is aweful. Stay strong, im preying for you and your son xx

Big KUDOS on 76 Days Dede!!!!  Sorry you are still dealing with such depression.   Hope you are getting at least some light exercise in your days or weeks and involved in some aftercare.  Plus eatin lean proteins and some fruit and veggies helps our depression levels too.

So sad to read of your son's best friend.  So many addicts think "it will not happen to me" until it does.  I have two family members that are milkin addiction for all it's worth.....sooner or later our addiction gets our attention....either we get clean or we end up in jail or dead.  

I'm SO glad you are CLEAN and FREE, Dede:):)

Hey Dede good to see you post and a big congrats on your clean tim  it is sad to here about a 34yr old die from addiction but that is the brutal truth about this illness left to our selfs it only gets worst with time that is why I push aftercare so much you need a fighting chance to arrest the disease and then recovery is possible
