Ok here goes my story. I'm in such a tough spot right now. A single mom two young kids. I had opiate addiction mainly percocets sometimes heroin. This has happend over the past year. Once I lost my job of 7 years things got bad. I realized I had a problem and one I couldn't afford. I blew lots of savings to get high. Then I checked myself into a 3 day detox came home feelin a lil restless but overall ok. Didnt realize how lucky I was to feel as good as I did...Relapsed 2 weeks after that. Then 3 months ago started going to a clinic started on methadone 3 months then they taperd me down so I could switch to Suboxones, my choice. Was on suboxone 8 mg for 1 week decided to come off cold Turkey and here I am 8 days later. Still feel absolutly no energy. But most the of withdrawal is gone. Well I Cant sleep either. When will my energyr return??? Please help??? Feeling so hopeless at this point. I dont want to but am so afraid I will go to the pills again. If I dont get relief soon. Anyone been in a similar situation? Its to much to run a household with two small children feeling energyless and sleep deprived:'(.

I hear ya on the energy, the unfortunate thing is gor me is I drink 1-2 energy drinks a day to keep up with my family of 6 and I am also a college student. Keeping busy helps. Just getting up and moving does wonders. I cannot wait to have energy and I also feel weak at times. But its getting better hang in there. You have come so far!!! I keep that in mind and I dont want to get sick again, so I dont even have a desire for pills.

Do you have someone that could come in help you right now?  Does anyone know that you are going thru this?  The best thing to do is to get up and start moving around.  Take a warm bath or shower, go outside and take a short walk, just something.  What you are feeling is only temporary.  It does get better so keep fighting.

Day 10 withdrawal feels like its been forever. I Cant stand this much longer. Alone everyday with kids and cartoons. I need the strength to love and take care of them like they deserve. I dont feel like getting off the couch today. I am barely hangin in there. Im so weak and depressed today. Cannot stop thinking bad thoughts. Im stuck though no gas no smokes no money. This is horrible!!! In such a bad place mentally and physically. I just want to make it stop.

I also wanted to mention that I exercised everyday as much as I could. A hot bath before bed, some soothing music and a heating pad. I also took imodium before bed which really helped. Hand in there you're doing great!

I guess were all different but I started to sleep good at 10 days. I felt pretty good at 30 days but was still a little weak. I'm close to 100% now but I don't have the energy I had while using. I guess part of that is just getting older but I'm able to get everything done now. It just takes time. When want to be 100% right now but it doesn't work that way. Just take it day by day and I promise you will see improvement!

Just wanted to offer my support. Reading your post gave me cold chills because I was in the same boat 3 months ago. I remember feeling so lost and I didn't Care about doing anything! I was terrified that I would never feel normal again. I can promise you that it will get better! Just take it one day at a time and don't worry about tomorrow. Wishing you the best.

Oh yeah...the above poster "ang_811" is 100% correct. Get out and exercise. Even if it's not much. The fresh air will do you good. I walked a mile like my third day (more like stumbled, surprised the cops didn't stop me for public intox). Now I'm half jogging that mile every day. good luck!

Howdy,

The cravings are part of the game and will be for the rest of your life. A sad fact of our predicament. I just had that problem the other day. I'm 11 days clean of Oxy and I can promise you it does get better. And when it starts to get better it does so exponentially. I mean like 100% every day. you'll have some bad days along the way. That's part of the game too.

Barb pretty much covered what you can do for sleep. One thing that will restore energy and an overall good feeling is whey protein powder drinks. Amino acids that heal your brain. a few guys on here preach it. I started taking it before I CTd and can tell you it helps.

Hang in there, you'll do fine. and Hang out here. A ton of support on this site. Wishing you well....

I was on methadone for two years then on suboxone for 3 months to get off the methadone. It does come back. I exercised as a way to get my energy up and then I'd sleep like a baby after a good workout. U gotta really push yourself one day at a time and really want it for u. It does get better. Everyday u wake up tell yourself your stronger than yesterday.

R u getting any aftercare? We can only white knuckle sobriety for so long. Good luck

Thank You for your response. I dont wanna turn back but the cravings are so strong. I know if I go back it Wont be just one more time. That really does scare me but its a constant battle as you probably know. I have followed the Thomas Recipe however. Some... Most days seem so hopeless. Im a single mom dont currently have a job so Im home all day with my 3 year old and my thoughts. Its hard to stay busy bc I dont have alot of money. Music is my biggest motivator. Im def gonna stay here and keep posting. This seems to be very helpful.

Hi there. A lot here have been in similar situations. Some even worked their entire time of wds... You're past that now.

I'm concerned about your other post.. Trying just one. You know by now you can't try just one, right?

There are things to do for sleep.
Have you tried Melatonin, or Valerian Root? Both OTC ( over the counter) and work well.

Clonidine is a prescription BP med, that helps a lot with anxiety, Rls, shakes and sweats if you still have any of those. It also can help sleep.

Energy takes awhile. Exersize helps. Also, listed in the Thomas Recipie below, is L-Tyrosine. It helped many with energy. It made me too anxious though. I had crazy anxiety, not everyone does.

There are too many success stories on here to not believe it gets better. I hit 6 weeks yesterday, mainly by living on here, and seeing the members post 3 months, 6 months 3 YEARS.. And talking about how much better they felt, and so happy to be freed of the chains of addiction.

Post back. Tell us how you're feeling. The forum has times it's not busy, then a few hours later, lots of people on here.
Do not take just one pill please. It won't be just one, and you're back to square one.
Many people, myself included, thought acute detox was it, then bam, feel better. It takes longer than that, but each day is better.

Hope you stay and post.
Good luck
