After four months of using opiates, how bad is withdrawal

Since I had my son, I was prescribed percs..  I had those for about a month and moved onto methadones, to oxycontin..  Its been about four and a half months and I am ready to be done.  I am curious to see how bad withdrawal will be.  I have gone days here and there without using..  Only took 40 mg methadone a day, and if I didn't have that 80mg of Oxycontin...  Has anyone gone through withdrawal after this short of time?

Sounds like the consensus is that u will have some withdrawals...everyone is different but i would prepare and ask ur doctor for clonidine like avs said and some non-narcotic aids to help u get off the meds u r on...it definitely will not get any easier to get off as time goes by...now is a good time to quit and enjoy life

Smiles yes you are going to go threw withdrawal that is some heavy duty meds .The doctor should have told you you would have withdrawals .There methadone is going to be very rough wd can last for quite a while .I would go back to the doctor and see if you can get some colondine. This will help with the  wd.

length of time is different fir everyone.  methadone has a very long half life and the w/ds from that can be bad.  hopefully you have not been on them long enough for it to be too bad.  good luck to you.

Withdrawals from methadone can be pretty rough. It tends to stay in your body longer so the w/d is longer too. My 2 cents is to taper down then quit.
