1 mL or 1 cc is the dose recommended
if u do not have a deficiency then it is not doing a whole lot of good..alcohol depletes b12..so if u pull an heavy drinking episode it is a good idea...most do it once a month for energy..along with a b6 supp orally to absorb it....if u r deficient then weekly shots may be recommended...when i feel really tired or have been ill or stressed..i pop myself with one...stress and illness also depletes B12
It's best to gather info from your doc. based on your pannels. I only took them once a month at the dr,s office. I was offered to do them at home but I opted out of that plan. I understand that b12 are slow to raise I mainly take them in the cooler months because I have Fibro.Your doc should be ansewering these questions for you. Good Luck
I just recently started taking injections again 16 days ago when I went cold turkey from taking Lortab. I have a Vitamin B-12 deficiency to begin with though. My doctor prescribed me to inject myself once a day for a week, then once a week for three weeks, then once a month. That is how I used to do it and I how I started it back up again when I stopped taking the pills. The injections have helped SO MUCH with giving me energy while I was going through w/d as well as currently. I was also told by the doctor to take a Vitamin B12 pill daily as well, even with the shots.
It is always best to ask a doctor/pharmacist to see what plan is best for you though. I actually asked the pharmacist the other day if taking a B12 pill on top of the shots is bad and he said "no." For me though I gave myself a 1cc injection daily for a week and now I am giving myself only 1cc a week. It gives you instant energy. If you have anymore questions feel free to send me a message :)
