So I'm not making it through the w/ds, and I'm too d*** resourceful for my own good - there's also a part of me that doesn't want to quit, and I realize that makes it harder. The people on my support team are encouraging me to consider all options, which includes a medical detox (there are in and out-patient ones in my area - whoo hoo for living in Atlanta). Here's my question - does it sound like a good idea to use my company's private health insurance (United Healthcare) to offset the considerable costs? I'm worried that if I do, they will look more closely at my history and find patterns of doc shopping. Obviously I'm the one that did it, and I didn't care at the time - shouldn't have done it if I wasn't willing to pay the price and all, but geez, I'd like to just stop. Anyone have any experience with this / input? I was doc shopping pretty heavily for about 3 months, and I was using the insurance for the office visits, but paying for scripts in cash - prior to the 3 months, I was taking a "normal" (whatever that was) dose, and I didn't have multiple doc visits, but I did pay for some of my scripts with the plan (unless it was gonna be less than my copay). So yeah.....and I read an article about a doc shopping study, and they studied anyone who had seen more than 2 docs of the same specialty in a 12 month period - and I'm like, whoa, what would they consider me then?)
