Can I have symptoms?

Hi all,

I'm so glad I found this!  I am on my first day with out vikeys.  I've been taking them everyday for about 4 years.  However, I never take more than two a day and I break them up over the course of the day instead of taking a whole pill at one time.  Do you know if I can have w/d symptoms from such a small amount?  I hope to learn from you and share my info as well.  I went to my first NA meeting last night which was huge for me.  I am a "soccer mom", affluent, etc and this started from surgery.  
Trust me - I love my hydrocodone as much as the next person but I know it has to end sometime, right?

I am new to this site 3 days.  I feel so welcomed and loved here, I know that sounds corney but it true.  Everyone here knows what everyone else is feeling they have been through it before.  I can tell you I started on perks for "oral surgery" that was 6 years ago, only taking them as prescribed.  6 years later I am still taking them but moved up to a stronger pill oxys and know I am up **** creek without a paddle.  I never thought of myself as an addict, that wasnt me, I was kidding myself.  anyways try not taking them for 1 or 2 days and you will find out really quickly how addictive they are.  Keep me posted and good luck to you,, thinking of you and including all in my prayers.  love melodie

I had taken vikes for about 4-5 years also, everyday about 2-10 a day all scripts for legit reasons and the withdrawals are hell.  I'm on day 9 and only barely starting to feel better.  I  am proud everyday I don't one and now I think if I found one on the floor I'd flush it.  I am starting to see how clouded I was when I was taking even one a day.  I would recommend trying some of the supplements mentioned in the thomas recipe & amino acid protocol, hot baths plus something to help you sleep.  Coming here has been the best thing I've done for myself and this is the longest I've ever gone without one since 2004.  Good luck life will get better!

I have a headache just about everyday and this has been going on for years and years.  I have back pain as well and of course was prescribed hydrocodone for these ailments.  I also took them for the hell of it as well.  I am having a hard time calling myself an addict. I guess we will see when the symptoms take effect lol!

Yes you can have w/d's from that small of an amount. All narcotics are addictive so when you take them over a long period of time your body gets physically dependant on them. You asked if it has to end sometime...well do you still have pain or are you taking them for other reasons?

You will find a lot of support here and most of us are just like you, we started for a legit reason and then it develops to more and many are moms and dads and professional people with careers...so just know you are among people who are just like you. Keep us posted! Good luck!
