Can I use lortab to combat methadone withdrawal, so I can quit?

I've been taking methadone for 6 yrs. up till mid June I was taking 50mg methadone a day. Since having surgery I used the prescribed LORTAB to get mt methadone down to 15mg a day.  I only have 6 10mg methadone tablets left. Can I succeed using lortab to combat methadone withdrawal and quit m completely?  LORTAB is easy for me to quit.  Has been for years.

Worked great.  After about 50 lortab 10s (100 1/2s) I weaned down and off!  Except for "jimmy legs" and chest muscle cramps I had few problems EXCEPT CONTINOUS INSOMNA!  Im up all nite tossing and turning.  When wifey leaves for work I'll fall asleep for a few hours.

Plus side: I have amazing energy I've missed for 10 yrs.  sex drive like a 20 yr old.  These pain doctors who RX methadone are idiots IMHO. they have no clue of the physical dependence of this drug.

HI if under a doctors care it will help relieave some of the withdrawals but not all of it methadone has a bad habit of sticking around in your system for a few months now for some it is faster but most it takes a few months to run it course take the loratbs wile you have them then just tuff out the rest of the withdrawal it will be worth it in the long run good luck and God bless...........Gnarly

I used hydros to get ready for subutex induction. The fear I have with methadone is the long half life. After 20 days of sub, I still had PAWS from the methadone. My methadone was much higher 150-200mg a day, so it may not be as severe for you, but 6 yrs is a long time. I think the Lortab will help, because it is fast acting and the withdrawal is much shorter as well. I would talk to your doctor about this, but you may need to switch to Lortab and then taper that over some time, as to avoid the lingering affect of the methadone. I'm trying not to break forum rules here, so once again, ask your doctor, I am merely sharing my opinion and experience.
