15 days of vicodin and still having severe anxiety

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well.   I have a question.........the anxiety has been unbearable.   I get very hot and my whole body starts to burn.   I have fibromyalgia and that contributes to the burning.  My doctor prescribed Clonazepam .5mg once a day. Do you think it will have any effect on my withdrawal.   I took two vicodin a day for 5 years and 6 for the past three months for a spinal infection.     Thanks for all your help you guys are great.

.5 of clonazopam is nothing. I took 2mg of xanax twice a day to kick my vicodin habit. It worked very well. I had no anxiety at all!

My advice to you is to go get some 5 htp. Google it. It will help you a lot. You can get it at Walgreens, Cvs and many other places. It's basically serotonin in a pill. Try to start with 50 or 100mg pills. It's good stuff...trust me.

Thank you Minn, I've had the prescription for two weeks and I wouldn't take them because I thought they would slow down my withdrawal.  I decided today I have to do something I can't stand this anxiety, I feel as though it is altering my life.   Again, thanks and I will be careful.

I meant to say "even though I didn't take them every day and sometimes even skipped a day or two I still went through some pretty bad withdrawal."

Clonazepam is a benzo, which is a different type of drug. It is prescribed to relieve anxiety, anxiety attacks, and seizures. It will probably help you. I was taking a similar benzo, Clorazepate, during my withdrawal and I believe it helped me. I am now tapering from them because I had been on them for close to 12 years and even though I never abused them, I did become dependent. I went without them for close to two weeks because my doctor wanted me to come in before my next refill. Since I didn't take them every day, and sometimes even skipped a day or two, I went through some pretty bad withdrawal. The Clonazepam should help you short term through the withdrawal, but I think you should be careful and with your doctor's help, wean off as soon as you can. This is just my opinion based on my experience.

Good luck :)
