Two days sober is really great! It takes time to get back that normal feeling. You said you've been using for six years so your body has gotten used to being fed the opiates daily and so a lot of normal processes in your brain or body have become dependent on the opiates so now it takes some time for your body to get used to not having the opiates and being dependent on itself again. It's kind of like a shock to your body when you stop. However there are things that help ease the WD. Melatonin or ambien is good for sleep, I take 5-HTP as a natural anti-Depressant because I get depression/lack of energy when I come off. B vitamins are also good for energy. Bananas are good to eat, heating pad for your stomach/legs, it helps to wrap your legs in heating pads. Moving around and excercising helps a lot. It is good to find people who can support you because it will be tough and it is nice to hear support from another person when you are down on yourself or wanting to use again. Be patient and give your body time to get back to where it once was, the bad physical part should be gone in a few days, but the mental can carry out a few weeks. Don't give into it, just accept it as part of the healing process and know that each day you aren't using is a day closer to getting that normal feeling back and getting the rest of your life back, which is worth a few weeks of feeling bad. Also, when you are really down and frustrated, talk to someone or post on here and you will be amazed with the support you get. Congrats on 2 days, keep going forward!
Day 2 is great! i was at ur dose..100 mgs for 4 yrs...and i made it...after day 4 i felt alive..and back to work day 5...a week or so later fatigue hit me..but right now u need to concentrate on "right now? but having a plan for later is also important
I got up and went to the gym/even day 1/whether i thought i would die getting off the couch or not..i was tired...i made it 20 minutes on the treadmill day 1...by day 5 i was at 45 minutes...and found i felt normal 5 minutes into exercise as my brain was producing endorphins that i needed...exercise forces endorphin release
I also followed the thomas recipe..tyrosine helped me alot with nrg/not recommended at 2000 mgs if u have high anxiety tho...i had a couple of valium and used pieces during the day if i felt nervous....i had ambien for sleep altho that is a drug some abuse//benzo users have a high tolerence to ambien and lunesta so not a good choice if someone has a hx of benzo use at high amounts...i had not issues with insomnia//most do..i was opposite and slept 16 hrs a day if coulda...it became an issue with working full time
A supp called EmergenC (walmart) was sumpin i drank 3 x a day..people tend to get sick alot during and after detox as it hakes a toll on ur body/detox does..C helps u stay well....i had powdered aminos i got from bulk nutrition that i mixed with the EmergenC to avoid so many pills to take the recommended amount the thomas recipe suggests
the health pages to ur Left under DISCUSSION has lots of great info...valerian root or melatonin help some to sleep and are otc..benadryl is also otc...rx drugs like muscle relaxers and phenergan also help thru this phase/getting ur bedroom very cold is helpful to sleep if sleepis an issue for u...it slows the metabolism..also/if u cant sleep/get up out of ur bed and try again later to avoid associating negative feelings about tossing and turning with ur bed..funny but our minds can do that to us
Keep posting..read the health pages..stay positive...there is an article with internet sites that are very helpful to obtain things to help u right now depending on what ur issues r..good luck
Yes, congratulations! Klonadine is a blood pressure medicine that is prescribed for withdrawal from opioids. It really would be best to contact your doctor for help in withdrawing. It is very difficult to do by yourself. It can be done, but many people pick the drug back up because it is so difficult to detox alone. You will feel normal once again! Absolutley! It will take time and others to help. Try a twelve step program to continue to heal. It really really works.
