I agree with the above posting..You have come a long ways..Talk to the DR..Maybe there will be some non-narcotic med you can try...I do notice since I am not using my pain meds that alot of the pain has gone away...Being clean fires up the natural pain receptors..BUT When I was detoxing off meds, I had some pain in areas I never had before..It all went a way..Just the older age pain here and there for me...You hang in...OK
God Bless

Congratulations on day 4! I am sorry to hear about the awful muscle spasm; hopefully it was temporary and you are feeling better now(?). The lack of sleep thing is really common in early detox; it should return to your "normal" soon.
I was about a week clean when I saw my Dr. and told him everything. He was very supportive and did prescribe me a non-narcotic alternative along with physical therapy. In my opinion, If you do have continuing pain issues, being honest with your doctor will enable him/her to determine the best way to treat it. Hopefully there will be a non-narcotic alternative. If not, then knowing your history, he/she can either choose another med better suited w/less abuse potential and/or monitor more closely what you are taking. Do be aware, I've heard of people coming clean with their doctor's and then regretting it (being treated as an "addict" or "fired" as a patient). I would hope this is not the norm and that your doctor will be supportive as mine has been. In any case, the decision is yours, and you may want to get some more input on this. I would suggest you start a new thread (post a new question), as this one has gotten long and you now have a new question. It will draw more/new responses to this specific issue. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck and again, congratulate you on day 4!
good morning
Sorry to hear about your spasam
I know those all too well. Just had one last Thursday hubby caught me befor j hit the floor. I was flat on my back all day and part of the next. Still some pain from it.
I know hard it is to control our ligit pain after we stop the meds.
Only this g is I never abused my meds never took more or ran out early. Even had extras sometimes. I just didn't like what they were doing to my mind and body and didn't want to have to go to a higher mg.
Ya know where does it end???
And if you go to Pain Managment they will try the shots etc... But they always put you on a stronger dose and other meds. They do drug testing to make sure you don't take less or more. Don't wanna do that!! Ya know.
Not sure what I would advise you to do but I do know there are other non narcotic meds that might help and OTC meds.
Maybe you should stet another post. A new one with the question you asked about suggestions on what you should do.
That way it goes to the top and everyone will see it's a new question from you and you will get alot of advice.
You were abusing your meds so not sure that staying on them is a good idea. IMO
But can't expect anyone to be in pain, that is no way to live either.
I just don't have any personal experience with addiction except with my daughter and that's not alot. I'm still learning
But if you post a new post with the question I am sure you will get a lot of replys.
Good luck with whY ever you do.
I know it's hard to be in real pain all the time.
Peace
