thnx for the help gnarly and beach. I cant't believe how methadone can mess up your body so bad. I'm glad that this is apparently going easier for me. Like I said b4 I fully intended to be hospitalized during this.Things are still foggy but it is lifting. thx -teena
HI Teena im sorry to here your going threw the sleep cycles there enough to drive you nutz
I say this a lot but methadone is very cyclic you will start to sleep get 4 or 5 hr a night then bam your up all night again its a viscous cycle but as you move on with this you will get longer periods of sleep and less nights up....you are still healing it takes a wile for the brain to recover from a strong drug like methadone...and I agree 100% with you about being more there for your family....I dont think people realize just what a fog methadone puts you under until you off of it...it dosent get you hi persay.....but it dose leave you under a quite fog keep posting for support there are several of us who have been threw this and know what its like your withdrawal has been very mild many myself included where sick for months hang in there and message me any time you like good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
teena,
congrats on your 22 days that is awesome. keep on keeping on. my husband has now been clean for 14 months from a 14 yr addiction to meth and pills. my husband was definitely a much different person when he used. he was nasty, argumentive, always yelled, withdrawn, unhealthy, depressed, hardly ever laughed and smiled, liar, no sex drive, heavier,a shell of a man. i think you get the point.........now he is loving, funny, eats right, exercises faithfully 4 days a week, spends time with the family,is 30 lbs lighter, happy, honest, rarely yells, is easy going, much, much, more of a pleasure to be around. the energy level will return and my husband was also very foggy for months and months. make sure you exercise, build your body back up, get those endrophins started again. just start out small, little walks. then increase it. the weather is getting nicer so go for it. even if it is a walk around the block. keep up with the vitamins. eat lots of healthy food. our family is so much better now, we are healing and being restored day by day. there is a wonderful and full life after methadone. we are living it. it is great. much love to you. hugs. keep up the good work.
blessings to you,
debbie
