Darvocet Withdrawal

So, I have been around and around since I was 20 with these withdrawals. First let me say I have been on methadone and gone through those withdrawals. That's pure hell.
Now I've been on Darvocet for 3 weeks to get off Tramadol. And I'm wondering, since they are structurally the same, are the Darvocet withdrawals the same as methadone? Can I plan on going through withdrawals for the next 7-9 weeks?

I feel so much stronger now that you all told me they won't be that bad. I'm so ready to get off these, they're making me fat and lethargic. I hate being addicted to pain pills.

Thanks so much! I felt really naucious last night but i'm doing ok. i'm at work today and feel depressed but not too bad I guess. I guess I just am wondering if I will go through the tramadol withdrawals once I stop these? I felt awful the first week i took them while the tramadol was getting out of my system. Tramadol withdrawals are really nasty.

They say the tyenol they put in darvacet is stronger than the narcotic in darvacet...should be a walk in the park compared to what u have been thru...go for a walk in the park or around the block to get ur happy endrphins going now...still a narcotic but u should be ok if ur heart and soul is in it...keep posting

darvocet withdrawal will be completely mild..it will be alot less severe then vicodin, let alone methadone. it should only last about a week at msot and be generally mild compared to full blown oxy or H withdrawals. darvocet is only about 10X stronger than aspirin.pretty weak, so try not to worry too much youll make it thru and in a week youll be free and sober

Thanks for your support. I don't know why i'm even having to ask. I'm an expert on every type of withdrawal known to man. I have a full time job, live in sober living and nobody around me can know what i'm doing. That's what makes this so hard.

I took the methadone to w/d from Oxycontin. I don't even know why I'm asking for advice. There's nothing anybody can tell me that I haven't already gone through before. I guess I'm just wondering how bad and how long it will be. I've been a pain pilll addict since i was 20, so for 9 years. I've gone through all the detoxes and programs. I currently live in Sober living and can't let anyone around me know that i'm taking anything for pain.

It should not be as bad  as methadone ,but be careful not to get into a cycle of taking one narcotic to get off of the other .However it will probably be as bad as tramadol withdrawl most like you have just  put off of the withdrawls.

I would think it would depend on how high the dose u were taking was? Im think methadone would be harder than darvocet. I took methadone to get off norco I had no problems at all getting off but I was on a low dose and tapered it every week for a month. After that was over my dr gave me a scrip for ultram 200 cr I heard all the horror stories but I thought how bad could 1 pill a day be?? WELL I wasnt at all mentally addicted to it so when I ran out I didnt think anything of it and I thought I was having those PAW things from the vicoden until I realized I was w/ding from those friggin ultram I couldnt believe it. I think the ultram was probably the worst of the drugs u have taken. I just have to ask what u used the methadone to withdraw from in the 1st place??

I believe that methadone is the worst and takes the longest to clear your system. Propxyphene on the other hand will not be that way - you shouldnt have to go through the 7-9 weeks that methadone took you....more like the classic narc with a week or so of unmistakable effects followed by gradually tapering symptoms.....good luck and I hope that you are doing well by week 7-9........it can be done....
