Congrats on getting off the oc! That in itself is a huge step and very hard. You probably are over the worst of the w/d but you may have some other feelings popping up now as well, anxiety/moodiness. I haven't gone through this process my husband has only 11 days ago and it's still a daily thing trying to keep busy, keep your mind occupied. If you have any hobbies or something you can do to keep your hands and mind focusing elsewhere that will greatly help. I don't know if anything can  be worse than those 3 days of hell you just went through. So when you have a day that you feel sorta low or not your normal self just remember the harder days you just went through and feel proud of yourself for that! A good thing is to get some of the vitamins/minerals off the Thomas recipe they really help with the lack of energy and helping your body get back to normal. Again congrats on your 4 days :)

Congratulations on day 4. That is great. Many don't make it that far so stay strong. All of the things mentioned already will help tremendously. Something else that helped me was reading the craving list...How to intervene on a craving under health pages. Remember, those thoughts are just that...thoughts. You relapse when you let them produce an action. Thoughts can't hurt you. When they get strong try to keep busy like Sara said. I meditate and try to calm all of that noise in my head. I think of a stream and my thoughts are twigs floating downstream in the current. If you practice it really helps. Recovery is a process and you need to try to use the tools that work for you to stay clean. It's hard: it's worth it. God bless and keep you in recovery. Corey

Feel proud for going thru w/d cold turkey.  As you said you have gone thru the physical and now you are fearing the mental......   and what you say is absolutely correct,  this is the hard part.   Get to an AA or NA mtg   asap   you may have to go to several in a day to find a "home place" where you feel comfortable with the other people.   Seek out a sponsor to help you thru the mental cravings.  If you have insurance or the monetary means  check into Intensive Out Patient (IOP) treatment for you to help you with the on going recovery process.   If you dont have insurance please check with your local social service agencies for any assistance they provide for drug prevention and rehabilitation.   It is so very IMPORTANT you get support and after care as soon as possible.  Please dont think that  the physical w/d is the end of the journey for drug addiction,  unfortunately  as you are now feeling, the aftercare and mental addiction is huge...  please pursue aftercare now,  not tomorrow    but today.  I wish for you success and stregnth in regaining your life without addiction.

4 days is great. I was on the tramadol train way longer then I should have been. I was not strong enough to quit on my own, I was terrified of the sickness and the wd's. I did taper but it was still difficult to go from 10+ a day to 1 to zero. I still felt the wd's. You can't get comfortable, cant sleep, and just plain feel like tearing your skin off. When I got to day 4 I was still having major anxiety and sleep issues and begun to get frustrated just wanting a brake from feeling so crappy. I thought day 4 I should be feeling better and by that time you are just tired of being sick. But then day 5 came and it got a little better then day 6 and I slowly stopped stareing at the clock counting how much time has went by, then day 7 came and went and the kicks were less and less. I am past the 2 week point and no longer am I constantly wanting one, no longer kicking, and feeling pretty damn good. Sometimes I think oh I need to take another pill soon so I don't get sick and then I realized that hey I don't have to anymore, they don't have a hold on me anymore and each day passes I think less and less about them!

For a long time I took these damn things because I had to. I had to take them to function normally and I was terrified of the WD'S. I mean who isnt? They are terrible! But as a former user I know we don't see things logically we will use for years just to avoid being sick for a few weeks or less. We have no concept of time. We dont think about how many hours are in a day we think how many pills we need and how many days we have untill we have to start looking for more. Those two weeks or less of time we need to take for ourself's to get feeling better are just a fraction of the time we spend hunting, worrying, looking, or going to get our next stash. That is not a way to live. I am finding that I am up earlier, I feel more clearly, and I am not wasting my time with all the things that are associated with being a pill seeker! Just stick to it, you are almost over the hump I promise you! Getting over it was the hardest part for me. There is no wonder cure for this believe me if there were I would have found it.

What I did to get through the worst part was using my hot tub or taking long showers. I got sweaty and then cold it felt like my body temp was all over the place and made me feel worse a shower will relax you it may not last long but if you have to take another one. I also got a tanning membership. I forced myself to get up and go to the tanning salon. Getting sunlight, and warmth really helped. It made me feel better. You got to sweat out the bad stuff and that really helped plus you get some color and vitiman D which helps with your mood. It was hard for me to excersize at first but now I take my dog for a walk every day and it feels good. I am also taking vitiman B6 to help with energy!

I hope this helps. You are on your way to freedome don't quit now! You have gotten so far and if you use you will have to start all over again so stick to it and fight so you never have to feel this way again!!! GOOD LUCK!
