Norco withdrawal

Hello all,

I am getting myself off of 2-3 norco a day habit for the last few years.  I know others have been taking a lot more but I am  still experiencing withdrawal symptoms- restlessness, diarrhea, nausea, sleeplessness. Today is my 5th day only taking 1/2 of tablet. I am scared when my pills run out. I have 4 full pills and was thinking of cutting them again. I can really use a boost of confidence here to get me through.

Hi All,

I had a good evening, plenty to do with husband and kid home. However, I only slept a few hours. I am tired but am trying to make the best of it. I have a few things to do today so I hope the day goes by faster than it has the past few days.
I got up the nerve to tell my sister yesterday about what I am struggling with. She was not surprised and was very supportive, I had to tell another person to have her on my side.

Just checkin to see how your doing? By tomorrow you should feel worlds better. Just know you may feel somewhat unbalanced emotionally and it is all normal. You are among the very few that can taper down to a small dose, thats a great advantage. Hot baths to ease anxiety and muscle aches, sleepy time tea to relax, protien drinks to help you brain heal, and exercise to get those endorphins flowing. Attitude is EVERYTHING . Your doing great....keep us updated!

Thank you I think you are right. It is a lesson learned. I have my husband helping me through this and is charge of the 1/2 tabs I have been taking. I give kudos to all on this site who have been on a lot more and quit.

I know this might sound silly but have you ever thought about developing a simple Patented product. We all are exposed to simple every day things that make life easier for us. The hanging upside down tomato plant, the pet rock, and all the $19.95 things you see on tv and have said "i could have thought of that". The reason i bring this up is that it is good for idle time and can lead to some pretty big money. I have done it myself and these type of things have helped me with addictions as even though money is not everything it sure helps and gives us options.

Thanks all this has helped a lot. I have been sitting around and not doing much to keep myself busy. I think I am thinking about it more than anything else. I suffer from depression so I am taking anti-depressants, which have helped.

The fear of being without pills is worse than the actual detox. In fact, you've been experiencing detox as you've tapered. 2 or 3 a day isn't a huge amount, so your withdrawal may not be too bad.
My suggestion is to stay nourished - detox, even a mild one, can take a toll on your body. Try to eat; if you can't, try drinking Ensure. If you're visiting the bathroom a lot, find a drink that has electrolytes added. The first few days without the pills will be the hardest, and that's because your mind will start talking to you, big time. Things like "just one won't hurt; just one to help me sleep, etc." Once you're done with the physical detox we'll help you with the mental struggle which is much, much tougher than the physical.

Sending one boost from here also. Dont worry when you run out as you will feel much better shortly. You Have very little in your system as 2/3 is not much. Just try to maintain your focus of stopping and feel happy as you could be getting off 8 a day as i did. Withdrawal from 8 is a life changing event. withdrawal from2/3 compared is more of a spanking and a learning lesson.

Sending you a boost of confidence!  Bananas and hylands restful legs for the restlessness,  immodium for the tummy issues, staying hydrated with vitamin water, a positive attitude and staying busy help me. The sleep issue is a tough one.  A meditation cd, lavendar baths and nighty night tea will help me sleep in spurts. Everybody is different but I find the fear of wd is worse than the actual process.  Keep posting and keep reading on this forum, it is a life saver, literally!

you will have withdrawals symptons even when you are trying to taper I did I had to do a fast taper. so my exp will be diffrent than yours I was on alot more than you are taking, when you stop taking the pills your withdrawals should be not to bad sense how long have you been down to a half of a tablet more info would help us on the forum to give you better advice, is this the first time you have gone through withdrawals. and you can do this I know that withdrawals stink and are very uncomfortable but I looked at it like I was sick and there was nothing I could do about it just like when you get the flu not much you can do but ride it out. when I came to that in my head it was easier for me to deal with we are here to answer any questions you have and lots and lots of support. you can do this
