Day 2 off Hydrocodone 10/325 HELP

Well its day 2 I've made it this far without any serious trouble, I cannot sleep for the life of me, I have to double up on my valium and I dont like doing that because then my body will get used to the valium and I will have to taper off that. I just called my doctor she "forgot" to call in my Clonidine...Nice doctor huh?? I bet if she was going through this she would have it first hand. How frustrating.
Only problems Im having now is lack of sleep..tossing and turning, Sweating, little headaches, LEG CRAMPS. Im not miserable as most people would put it, im hanging in there.

My question is....Has anyone taken Clonidine and had good results?? I am so stressed and depressed. I was supposed to start a new job in the ER at a hospital around where I live and I had to post pon that to get myself better. Any anwsers for me? anything I can do to give myself a boost?? Any feedback is appreciated. Love you all,.

Yes, clonidine does help! I dont know what I would have done without it during my detox off methadone. Sounds like your doing very well, & everyday it just keeps getting better. Penelope

Sounds like you're right where you should be. I didn't use the clonidine, but many have and said it helps.  One thing I can suggest is exercise, walking or working out. That really seemed to help me and it improved my energy, motivation and mood.

For the leg cramps...try HOT baths and heating pad.

I would only take the valium 3-5 days...sleep takes a while to return...i used tylenol pM.
God luck!  Keep posting!

Hang in there.  Lot's of people use the Clonidine and say it really helps.  I'm on day 6 of similar dosage that you were on, and it really does get better.  Day 2 and 3 were not fun...but it's just your body resetting itself.

If I were doing this over, I would go through my doctor and ask to be tapered and have supporting meds (including clonidine).  I just use Ambien CR at night...help with the RLS and getting good sleep.  I wish I would of had the clonidine...a LOT of people use that to help themselves get clean.

Seriously, hang in there.  Another trick, I used Robitussian Cold and Cough on Day 3 for bad stomach pains.  It's with Dextromorphan in it.  It's been shown to help with withdrawal...and it honestly did work for me.  It eased the cravings and the stomach pain.  The RLS and stomach pain were the worst for me.

However, dummy me realized I quit my prescription nexium three weeks ago, and that is also why I'm having more problems than probably usual.  Back on it for two days and it seems to be helping...way less burning and stomach cramps.  I don't recommend quiting other meds at the same time...you never know what is causing what!  lol

So, hang in there and keep us posted.  Take it easy...gatorade, ensure or boost, and eat light.  Feel free to sleep all you can when you can.  Just think that it is Tuesday, and by Friday you'll be on Day 5 like me and it will be better.  If not, you can post a comment back and call me a liar!  lol
