Day 3

I feel the need to congratulate everyone on here for their personal battle with drugs and thank you all for sharing. I am on day 3 and am anxiously awaiting the wonderful "corner" that I will turn any moment now. I have to share that I got a professional massage today and although it felt good, I should have waited one more day. She knew something was wrong so I opened up to her and told her that I was on day 3 of withdrawals from percocet. She seemed afraid of me after that and wanted me to go to the emergency room. I wish I would have waited one or two more days and NOT shared that with her. I tried to assure her that I am fine, just really uncomfortable and trying anything and everything to make myself more comfortable, even if its only for a short while. She wanted to end the massage early and was clearly uncomfortable. I have more gift cards from my birthday but I won't be using them for a long time now. I guess I've gotten used to sharing with the people on this forum (who are all addicts, like me!) and now I remember that not everyone is going to be nonjudgemental and understanding.

In short... BE CAREFUL with whom you decide to share. You may regret it.

However I am still celebrating my 3rd day without those stinking awful pills!  Yay me!

I want to sign up for a massage from you. You have it down no matter what the situation. I want one!!! That deep breathing would seem to level things out while decompressing. Ahhhhh. maybe day 4 will be my day!

Oh Man, I can soooo relate to your massage tale. This forum with all it's acceptance and wonder kind of keeps us in a bubble. I too have a false sense that everyone will "get it" right away. I've held my tongue several times (sad). Anyway, thanks for taking one for the team ha! You and I are paralell on our progress and somehow that is comforting. Listen to justneedtotalk. He is a godsend and knows of what he speaks. Day by day, I am actually wanting to go to bed NOW just so I will have hopes of feeling more normal tomorrow. Stay strong girl. You have misse work. school, suffered physical pain, emotional up's and downs. Don't let it be in vain. YOU will get through this!!! xx

I am sorry to hear about you and your massage, going thru withdrawals is not a contraindication for massage and the Mt should know that. What they should of done was stop and talk to you to make sure you were comfortable and to let you know that they can stop at anytime and let yu know what to except from this massage.Which is you will need more water then you usually do,you are dealing with the detox and now all the other crud from your muscles going into your system,so you may feel a little more flu like tomorrow then what you thought you would of going into day 4.They also should of done some deep breathing stuff with you while doing cranial work.
I will gladly accept your gift cards!!
Great job on day 3!

My skin is still crawlin. I was using whatever I could get my hands on, mostly percocet. Like 50-75mg a day.... sometimes more, sometimes less.... but I been using for 6 years. I had 6 months clean last year but relapsed in January and been pretty hard core since.... even used heroin once.... but the stigma associated with that turned me off. I was just tryin to stave off wd symptoms. I gotta do this. This time I wanna be clean and stay clean. I'm gettin really tired of the wd symptoms tho..... they just won't ease! I just keep telling myself, 1 more hour, then you will feel better..... just keep swimming.... just keep trying.... don't give up.... I don't want to be that person any more. It's time to take control again.

CONGRATS on three days......Yes, you are well on your way to feeling better.  I am not familular with your habit or how much you were taking so that plays a big part in how long your withdrawal symptoms will last.  I am sure you have had some great advice on natural supplements you can use to help lessen and shorten them.  I personally pushed LOTS of water and gatorade.  I also put 2" of pure orange juice in an 32 oz gatorade container and filled the rest with ice cold water.  A normal person should consume 64 oz of water a day....When going through withdrawal you should increase that to 100oz/day.  Also, I would take a multivitamin and the other suppliments listed in the Amino Therapy Protocol article located in the Health Pages section in the upper right hand corner of this page.  The first and foremost detox aid is EXERCISE!!!!  You basically get out of detox what you put into it!  The more you can exercise and sweat the faster you will work the remaining toxins out of your body and it will drastically help lessen and shorten the withdrawal symptoms.  If you are having trouble sleeping I would try two Valarian Root pills, along with 12-25mg of melatonin.....I also took the valarian root throughout the day to help with anxiety and restlessness.  Potassium, HTP5, Grape Seed Extract, and a little bit of DXM work wonders.....Do not forget the Immodium when the lower end problems start.....Immodium also helps a little bit with withdrawal symptoms if you take a tad over the maximum amount.....It is an antagonist similar to opiates but in lower doses does not break the blood brain barrier but in higher doses does.  Take lots of hot hot baths and try and keep yourself occupied so you do not dwell on the symptoms.....well, good luck and you are doing fantastic.....Just think, every day not using is that much closer to feeling better naturally!  Even if you start feeling better, keep taking your vitamins and suppliments.  It takes anywhere from 1-3 months to completely heal......Good luck and God Bless!!!!
