Day 8. I see a light!

Could this be real?  Could the pain and suffering be coming to an end?  Could the constant anxiety/depression be close to leaving forever?

I'm almost afraid to get excited for fear that this is not really happening. The past 6-7 years has taught me nothing but pain and disappointment and dependence on all types of pills.

Today is day 8 and I can finally feel the clouds starting to lift just a little. My attitude is a little better but waves of symps still come and go but I think the good times are catching up with the bad times.

My biggest battle right now is the self loathing and regret. I'm hoping those fade soon.  Thanks for all the support that each of you has provided me. I would not have made it this far and never thought it possible.

This forum has saved my life!

Still givin it the finger!

glad you are feeling better. there will be good and bad days, that is just life.
learning to live life on its terms without pills.
you cant change the past, but you are making a new future. live for
today. the regrets and disappointments of your past will work itself out.
be forgiving to yourself, dont dwell on the past.

live in today, plan for teh future, and leave the past in the past.

I follow this and no, Id on't feel guilty, I am proud that I got myself off of the dependance. Even if you have support, nobody can take the pain of WD away, going through this is just like being born or dying, you do it alone, and I did it, adn I am proud, and so should you be too!

I am so glad you are feeling better, just think of how great you will be feeling in a month! You will feel like a new person.

Keeep up the great work!
hugs,
Lily

Self loathing and regret? Feeling better? Sounds like time for aftercare. This forum is great to get off your DOC, and aftercare is equally great at keeping you there. I know you know it, but many don't do it or continue to do it, so I thought I'd say it. Glad you are feeling better. I relate to reluctance of getting excited.

Give that self loathing and regret the two fisted finger!
Just feeling good today is something to get excited over.
