Yeah look into all the vitamins, supplements and amino acids, they can really help combat the fatigue aspects of withdrawal. Like the above posts you should really try and see a doctor and get some clonidine, it really does help relax and relieve some of the creepy feelings during w/d. Also I would get some melatonin to help you sleep and for sure a bunch of immodium, to me the immodium is one of the most important otc meds to have. The one thing Ive learned with my experience with opiates is that the more positive you can be about the process helps you get through things. Also any kind of excercise can really help speed up the process, even if its just a short brisk walk can go a long way. The more you can keep yourself occupied with a hobby, listening to music, using the computer, just anything to keep your mind off the negative feelings. The first detox I ever went through was with norco and I was very naive to w/d's, but I really started to feel better after about 4-5days. The last and most important thing is to seek out some sort of aftercare to help you stay clean, we here it all the time, but getting clean really is the easy part, its the staying clean part that is the real battle. We all will be rooting for you, you can get through this, I cant begin to tell you how priceless the feeling is waking up and knowing that you dont need a pill to get throught the day. I wish you the best of luck with everything, be sure to stick around and post any problems and concerns you may have. There are so many helpful, caring people here that you can lean on for support. Again good luck and take care.    Happy Easter!!!

You can do this.  You may be someone who can tapper-off while others say they had to go ct.  Whatever you decide, you will need some things from the thomas recipe. Immodium, nausea med, otc pain meds, ect.  You need to really want to quit in order to be succesfull, it is tough but doable.  I took lortab for 5 yrs. and was able to tapper off.  My dr. gave me a few days supply of clonidine, and I had a few tranzene along with the immodium, otc pain meds, mylanta, benadryl.  This helped me make it through the detox part.  Then, there is the mental part of it.  You will still deal with feeling  "needfull" for awhile, or that is the case with most of us anyway.  Then again, everyone is different, you may just do really good with minamal problems.  Best wishes and keep posting  ")

hi. depending on your prior dosing, any coinciding medical issues, and your desire to stay off of opiates, you may or may not be better off tapering or minimizing the wd symptoms with tramadol. there are links here to some helpful therapies (see health pages for thomas recipe, amino acid protocol), and no shortage of folks like yourself. the best thing you could do would be to obtain medical advisement from a competent physician, and check out aa or na in your area. you are definitely not alone and you'll be ok if you want this. good luck,  gm
