Delaying Tramadol dosage

I am tapering off of Tramadol (350mg per day) and was wondering if I "delay" my dosage as long as possible will it cause any issues?  I am cutting down by 1 pill per week as on my other post, but if I delay my morning 50mg pill from 7am to 10am (if tolerable) will this help me get off this devil drug faster?  (I am currently on 350mg per day and have been taking for 6 weeks total)  In other words..... the less I take during the day as tolerated, the quicker I get off of it? Or will there be serious repercussions?   I dont want to be a work and get sick since I delayed a pill, but want to speed this process up without being too ill to work comfortably.  My doc said I should absolutely try this approach, but this is the best place to find out first hand results from others who have gone before me.   I took 5 of the 50mg last night at 5:30pm and have not taken one yet this morning.  I still feel okay but is it going to hit me soon?  Should I try a 1/2 a tablet when I start feeling bad this morning?  When would the WD's typically begin from the last dosage I took?    Again.... the people on here are amazing so I am hoping someone can assist.

I am really impressed too! Your strength during this time really shows your commitment. I agree with FourJays (again, haha) that making this work for you is was it's all about. You're in the driver's seat! We're here for you! Thanks for sharing.

I think your plan sounds great and going 18 hours IS amazing!  I most definitely agree - a huge accomplishment indeed :)   It is SO key to this whole thing that your doctor is on board with you; very proud of you for being honest and doing it this way.  And as far as possibly not dropping as quickly as you planned, that is OK - making this work for YOU is what it is all about.  So it takes a few days, even weeks longer than you planned - in the big picture this is a very small investment of time that will reap rewards for the REST of your life.  I really admire your strength and determination to do this . . . and you ARE doing it!
keep it up :)

Just that you have a plan and are committed to a certain dose each day is great! Everyone has something different that works for them. Like for me spacing them out every 6 hours evenly is what worked but that didn't work for others. And if you find you are having trouble with the drop in dose you can always try spacing them differently. Don't get discouraged. It sounds like you are strong willed by putting off your dose today!

Not sure if I mentioned this or not but I find that setting my mind to staying busy (playing with my son, going for a walk, doing a project) helps me get through that extra 30-60 minutes, or however long.

Yeah- what neveragainplease said- that's where I got every 6 hours from. Which is why I spread mine out that way.

There are various ways to taper...,I have searched lots of journals of users on here to get some different perspectives. Emily Post also has a thread that goes back years with a lot of stories of w/d symptoms and lots and lots of stories that are helpful. I also sent you a message....feel free to message me. Keep posting here for support no matter what you decide.

a bit shaky at 17hrs since last 5 pills.   Should I be spacing out my dosage more consistently instead of delaying like this?
