I think you'll be fine here.  Generally the docs. don't write a script for cough syrup unless you've got a hacking unproductive one that keeps you from sleep.  Otherwise, something like Delsym 12 hour is awesome.  There are even lots of Rx cough syrups with diff. opiates in them like with codeine, which is known for it's cough suppressive properties.  There are lots of different Tussi formulations too with different meds. in them, some with opiates, some without.  Your particular formula also has as an active ingredient Chlorpheniramine (antihistamine) as well.  The type of cough and it's etiology are probably why that one was prescribed for you.  Like deceasedwithin says, as long as you're not seeking more, or using more, you'll be fine.  What type of cough and s/s do you have?  When's it worse, what makes it better?  How's it sound?  Is it productive?  How long have you had it?

as long as is doesnt turn into you seeking more drugs once your cough syrup is gone you will be fine you wont go through withdrawals but you might start craving the drug more strongly again
