Did Vicodin Make You Gain Weight? Did You Lose it After You Quit??

Wonderring if any of you gained weight on Vicodins...or get bloated?   Think Elvis in his later stage.

I have gained wight since taking them but that just could be because I am older now since taking them (for about 9 years).  I feel like it made my appetite for everything stronger- especially alcohol.

So here i sit, 2 weeks clean and although the scale reads the same my face looks skinner.

Did any of you experience weight loss after quitting?  Not immediately after quitting but  after you had been clean for a good 6 months or so.

Not only did I lose weight, my health all around improved. I am not fat at all, never have been, but I didn't eat as good I should on pills, or exercise in the right ways. I am back to what I weighed over 10 years ago, before ooiates, just from eating good and taking care of myself. The first stage of my recovery was getting my diet, exercise, and stress all under control. So many improvements in health have come from that, going back to my natural fit self is one of them. Focus on being healthy, not weight, and I bet the weight loss will be a side effect, rather than the focus. So much to look forward to, you are on your way.

Yup. I've lost probably 20 pounds since I detoxed,I lost my appetite and the sight of food up until 6 weeks made me sick. When I was using I was a healthier weight because like jifmoc says you're lazy and just don't care. I don't think they bloat you.

Yeah, I don't know where that dumb "Heroin chic" term started for very thin models; coke chic would make more sense since opiates make you lazy and apathetic!! You don't care what you eat. I did gain a little bit, and, I went to the gym occasionally when using as opposed to all the time BEFORE my active pill addiction. Along w/ all the rest of the wreckage to clean, that was on the list, too. So yes. You know what to do...eat less and work out!!!:)
