Fentanyl Withdrawls::::::: PLEASE HELP

Hello, I am almost at the beginning of day 5 no fentanyl pain patch.  I am experiencing some pretty severe body aches, exhaustion, insomnia, burning in the stomach, frequent urination, ice cold extremeties, etc.  Too top it all off, my husband went pyscho today.  I knew he couldn't be here for me.  All he wants to do is sit on the computer all day and night.  You can't tell me anything.  Then, I tell him and he proceeds to treat me like ****.  He doesn't care what he says or does in front of our children.  He is the most selfish human being I have ever met.  I wish I was well enough that I could pack up my kids and leave.  I hate him.  He took the kids and went to the video game store after our argument.  He proceeded to buy things for himself and the kids.  He never told me where he was going nor did he ask if I needed anything.  I feel helpless.  I am wondering how much longer I need to go until I start getting my strength back.  I am unable to drive or even go outside so I cannot purchase the vitamins needed.  I asked him 2 days ago for a heating pad.  He doesn't care.  I have been taking a multi vitamin for women though.  Can I take more than one a day safely?  The bottle says 1 per day.  Anyhow, thank you for listening to me vent.  I have no one to call or turn to.  My grandma passed away in Oct 09.  She was the one who I could  go too.

Venting is almost always a good thing..and basically most posting here are venting..so keep on venting
Taking more than 1 multi-vitamin is probably not gonna help a whole lot...once ur body absorbs what it needs//which as a rule a good multi covers and then some/it cant absorb anymore and u will just pee it out of ur system
Targeting the supps/vitamins/the body really needs during this time can be found in the Thomas recipe in the health pages//we need brain food and most often the supplementation we need is not all found in a multi-vitamin..exercis is one of the best things we can feed our brain during wd as it bossts the endorphins we need//exercise can make the anxiety decrease, the depression lessen and the fatigue lessen as well//guess it is why runners get addicted to running//they crave that same endoprphin/dopamine/relaese that an addict does//course if I had to choose//i would be addicted to running  (:
U got alot on ur plate..seeking support and putting all the balls in ur court is important..what u r doing is very do-able and many have done this..fentanyl is a tough drug  to kick....\and u seem to be well into it..and doing well in the process..give urself a huge PAT on the shoulder and keep moving forward..u deserve it and everyone here would give u one more pat if they were with u

keep posting

Hey girl - I know the RLS gets worse, I'm day 5 no vics and it's horrible and I even take Mirapex for it, but have had to double up. I would say ask your doc for some mirapex or requip - they are both for RLS and not any kind of narcotic.  Get off the vic's as soon as you can so you don't trade one addiction for another - sorry for sounding preachy......

As far as your husband, he reminds me of my ex - who left me when I was diagnosed with Fibro/Fatigue - just basically a selfish pric$ who cared nothing about anyone except himself.  Focus on your recovery from the detox and focus on getting out of what sounds like a pretty abusive relationship.  You can do both - the detox symptoms will subside, day 4 was the worst for me, and today I feel soooooooooo much better!  Best of luck sweetie and I will pray for you!

Hi, I was wondering how you came off the patch and how you are feeling today along with the path you took.  I am so curious as to when I'm going to heal.  I have heard things all over the board...

Turning, Congrats on your sucess. I am glad to see hubby has helped you a bit. Take Cals advice, girl. You need to depend on you. Remember this; expectation leads to disapointment~disapointment leads to resentment. Try and see the positive. There is ALWYS soemoen that is worse off. Keep posting!!

Wow, I did not know that either Cal. very interesting though. I wonder 2 things...how long does it take for body to adjust to OTC meds? days, wekks, months?

Also does the same apply to non opiates? like say if you're addicted to opiates (me) and you take a xanax or ativan (which i am not) does that prolong your w/d's too? Just wondering :)

I was addicted to the patches too. It ***** but you can do this. Calamity2 gave you some real solid advise. Don't give in you are on the right path. The path you chose is pain that leads to gain and eventually FREEDOM BABY!!!!  The w/d's are the necessary evil to get clean but do not forget that they are only temporary.

Stay in the game with us, post, read & most of all trust that God is leading you now. He may use us to help you through but He is the ultimate authority. Look at it this was way,,,drugs were our master and god ( little g ie satan) while we were using. he had complete control over us. Now you have chosen to dethrone him but he is not letting go so easily, ie the detox. The God that you now choose wants you back!!!    Stay the course, trade evil in for good and our loving Heavenly Father will see you through. He always does.

Yes baby I am deadly serious.  Think of a campfire.  If you are just wanting a coasting fire you just give small amouts of wood. Not a big log like a patch, just alittle twig like a vic.  fire is fire  opiates are what you are addicted to.  My husband has herniated disc. He takes aleve. But he never got addicted to opiates so his body says hey thanks for the help. with the motrin or whatever and it deals with it. YOUR body on the other hand says hey b---- where the opiates deal with it will ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Dont play with yourself. You want to get over wds? stop feeding the fire! You will get past them and in TIME you BODY will start dealing with your pain again. It will do a better job than opiates.

I only take the vics because of the burning stomach, pain in my back from herniated discs and the worst...the RLS!!!  Are you serious that I am just prolonging the w/ds?  I really hope that's not the case.  Thank you, it is 5 1/2 days since I took that blessed patch off my back.  I started taking an arsenal of vitamins that I read on the health pages for the RLS and taking the Epsom salt baths.  I still feel like a sitting duck though.  I haven't left the house since last Wednesday when I saw the Dr.  He won't call me back.  (called him Sat morning).  This site has been my only resource thus far....

If you want the wds to get over quicker I would get off the vics if you have 6 days now it is time to take advil or aleve not vics.  They will only prolong the wds past this point. You can do it!!  Read more posts if you get weak.  It will be so worth doing this for yourself Its GREAT

Thank you for posting.  The vicodin are ES tablets 7.5/750 I believe.  I have been waiting out 6 hours. Although he gave me the script to just take 2 per day.  My hopes are that I will have enough until all this crap is over.  I do not plan on taking vicodins for a long time.  I was addicted to them awhile back and kicked the habit due to finding out I was pregnant.  But, I'm not sure if you have taken the fentanyl patch or not but going down from that to vicodin is a huge difference....  They help with the RLS and stomach burn and the aching in the back.  So, I wrote the husband a note and asked him to pick up the vitamins, epson salt, heating pad and sleepy time tea.  He went and picked it up and I've already taken my bath... way better than the hot showers.  I just drank the tea and I'm really hoping for the best.  I'm entering day 5 now.  I wish to God that I knew exactly how much longer this is going to go on for.  I am just a sitting duck.  Even though I scrubbed the tub, it was very hard.

Our familys sometimes dont believe we are serious.  You have posted that he has taken the kids out of the house for you and made thier dinner MAKE YOURSELF THINK OF THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM. Be grateful you are not fixing the kids dinner. If you can scrub the tub you can fix youself a sandwich.
You got yourself into this addiction and YOU are going to get YOURSELF out NOT anything your husband or anyone does or doesn't .    Focus on the prize!!!  Your life back

I am actually also taking zanax, lyrica, vicodin ES every 6 hours, and flexeril.  Even with all that I am still so f'ing miserable.  I just can't stand it.  Just wrote a note to the husband and asked that he p/u the magnesium, folic acid, Vitamin B 12 etc.

Have you got some advil or ibuprofen to help with the pain and tylenol pm at night. At least these things will help a little bit.Vitamins just give you the strength to fight the battle, and the otc pain meds help the rebound pain of withdrawal.

Thank you so much for posting.  I am actually trying to scrub my bathtub because it is dirty.  My husband saw me go into the cabinet to get the supplies.  He was sitting on the computer yet again.  He even made dinner for him and the kids and offered me nothing.  How can someone be such a selfish b@stard???  I wish to God I was strong.  I would leave him.  He is talking on the phone and texting and having a ball.  I feel like I'm in freaking labor crying in the bedroom.  He doesn't give a crap.  I just hope I can get through this.  It is hard for me to do simple tasks.  My back is aching like I have never felt before.  I do have bulging disks but not in my neck and lower back as well.  I feel weak.  I have no one to get me anything.  I have been an isolated stay at home mom for almost 4 years now.  The mulit vitamin is Nature Made Multi for Her.  Says it has iron and calcium.  Thank you all so much.  Amazing how complete "strangers" are there for you more than you own spouse.  Boy is this ever a wake up call.  He actually had the nerve to fake and call somewhere to ask about drug tests.  He is using my illness and weakness against me.  Unreal. :(

Dont forget your emotions are going to be hitting some lows and highs while you are in wds. It takes time for your mind and body to adjust to controling itself instead of the opiates numbing them.  ANGER is a luxury you can't afford right now. Keep focused on the prize. Soberity. Your life back!!   After I was sober for a month or so not sure I brought myself a hero sweatshirt. Because I felt like a hero. We have to be like soldiers that carry the wounded friend off the battle field. No matter how many bullets or scrap metal flying, flame throwers etc.  In wds we FEEL  OMG do we. It takes more time babe. Please hang in there you never have to do day 5 again!!
