For those with true pain issues

I was just wondering what you y'all do for the legitimate pain after detoxing off opiates. I have spinal stenosis and a couple of degenerative disk. I know the pain is magnified right now, but I'm not getting enough relief in between. This is what caused me to relapse the last time. I'm taking the maximum daily dose of Advil a day with hot showers and a heating pad. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. I guess I'm in a pickle with the real pain and the addictive personality.

sounds like you are on the right track......i have used Lidoderm patches - lidocaine in an adhesive patch - it numbs the area somewhat.  ask your doc about them.

I use a heating pad like you already mentioned and I am on Cymbalta for chronic pain. If I take OTC pain meds, I usually take them with coffee.
I have not had to go through the detox or addiction of opiates and I am trully sorry you have to go through this. Sorry I wasnt more helpful.

Hi,
I feel for you.  I'm dealing with it too.  Just please don't fold!  It will get better. Believe me.  I switched off between Tylenol n Motrin,  took hot baths in Epson salts, its relaxing for the muscles and helps rid toxins faster.  Laying around is all you feel like doing....but will make you feel worse.  Too much makes my back hurt a lot worse.  Get some Icy Hot or other rub and you probably should see a dr for your back problems....physical therapy could do wonders for you.

Hope all goes well for you.  If you need anything,  let me know!
