If you want to kick the habit, kick the habit. But since it sounds like you've been prescribed the medication legitemately, then this means you should feel comfortable enough in talking with your prescribing doctor about getting you off the pills in a safe way. A safe way meaning a tapering schedule. I wish my PSP would've done this for me, but instead -- no go for me.

Best of luck to you!

yes it is very very true that when you become addicted to pain meds your mind will actually make you hurt alot worse than you really do so you will take more meds cause i was in the same boat as you and i have had 2 major back surgeries and while all this was going on i found everytime i got clean when i was in active addiction the pain level would drop drastically and motrin would work just fine for pain and also how much do you take daily

Good Luck and Godspeed
