Good or Bad ?

Has anyone heard of Kratom Powder? This is an herb that is supposed to help with opiate withdraw temporarily, because it gives the same effects as some other opiates. It's legal here in Nev. but I'm not so sure about it.Can someone give me some feedback please? Thanks.

short term it is a wonder drug. Gets rid of all withdrawl symptoms. But remember - short term. I have used it and swear by it. I wouuldn'y use it for more than a week. When used short term there is no noticable withdrawl and if used for getting through the worst few days of opiate withdrawl it is the best thing going. It's kind of pricey but in my book it's worth it. I have been clean for almost 3 months after a 5 year 8-10 pill a day norco habit. Kratom is what I used when I decided to quit the pills. Prayer is what I use now to stay clean ( and occasionaly logging in to this forum).

Good luck

I agree with worried and would like to add one more thing. Kratom causes problems with your stomach and digestive system. I bought some for detoxing and tried it, seemed to help alittle but nothing that I would recommend to anyone due to the problems it created the day after using it with my stomach.

Mild but can be abused...does take the edge off...if u r prone to abusing everything you take, I would not try it...it would take alot to get the effects of a narcotic high for even 1 10mg lortab...just not comparable...but if you started drinking or chewing it to excess it could cause a problem...the grade A stuff is quite expensive as well...always better to detox without anything i think, but probably would be safer than using benzos to detox with ..and everyone is different

Kratom is a shrub/tree indigenous to Thailand - It has been used and investigated as a narcotic withdrawal agent - to say that you will get hooked on Kratom is like comparing a cup of coffee in the morning with a strong methamphetamine habit. From my experience you would need a couple of entire trees to hallucinate - and woodpeckers would probably kill you first. Beware of cheap sites that may /or may not / offer the real thing. Experiment with an open mind and intelligence. Kratom is more of calming effect - not a strict narcotic effect. And it does help with w/d's - no silver bullet, though.

I read somewhere once that a girl got addicted to it. She said it was worse than opiate withdrawals. They are saying it will soon be illegal here in the us. I would stay away from it if I were you. It's just another mind altering substance.

I've seen this Kratom brought up before, and I don't think I heard good things about it. Perhaps look into the archives for more info on it.

I just googled it.  It looks like it can be addicting as it gives the same euphoric feeling as opiates.
I think addicts should maybe stay away from it.
I only did a quick search, and maybe I am wrong, but, anything that gives the same feeling as opiates could lead to trouble.
They told me Tramadol was not addicting and.......here I am......
