Hi Timmy, sorry i havent written to you in a while. Now i dont want to be a dreamkiller or anything like that ,but you did ask for opinions. I think that might not be the best way to go. Although maybe the ultrasound technician might be a good option. the reason i thnk this way is because as i've mentioned to you, i attend group therapy and NA meetings and you would be surprised how many nurses i have met. they have all lost their licenses and are still going to board meetings trying to get their jobs back. Some have been suspended. I even met a pharmacist who cant work in that field for at least ten yrs. He cant even work in a place where they bill medical places, and this is what he studied for. Needless to say he is havin a hard time trying to find a job, and he is overqualified for most, but still cant find one. As we all know drugs aint no joke, i know i couldnt do it, without slipping, but then again your not me right? Do a real deep inventory of yourself i think you already know the answer.
I would like to do either nursing or ultrasound...
yeah...I know in the end the decision would be mine, and it would be up to me what I could handle. The thing is it differs everyday. Some days I think it would be a piece of cake, other days I think it would be impossible. Even if I were to be in a branch of health care that has nothing to do with medication, once in the field there is always some one that knows someone...you know? That's my worry. Also, being that I don't have much clean time I wonder if that is affecting my reasoning. I smoked for years and quit four years ago, and would have no problem working in a tobbaco factory....I would have no qualms with that. I wonder if it would be that same?
I'm just wanting to know what other's would do in their own situations....
I don't know if I could do it. But That doesnt mean you can't. Like domino said there are many areas of health care. I don't think I could be around pills all the time that would be hard for me.
You will be the one to have to make that decision as you said. There are alot of different areas of health care out there. What area are you interested in?
