Help with percocet withdrawal and addiction

Hello to all,
I am severely addicted to percocet.  I was perscribed them for migranies but started taking way too many and then started buying them off the street.  I really want to stop taking them but everytime I don't have them I get so sick to the point where I want to take my grandfather's gun and shoot myself in the head.  I have tried weening down off of them but I always want more of them.  I cannot sit still without them.  I can't sleep, I am so depressed once they wear off.  My husband just keeps saying "you will be fine" but I don't feel like I will be fine.  I don't know what to do.  Should I just stop cold turkey?  I am scared to do that.  Should I try to get into rehab?  I don't know how to go about getting into rehab.  I am unemployed and have no insurance.  I need advice and help.  I feel so depressed and so alone.  I just don't think I am going to make it.

Just use the Thomas resipe like a lot of us did and JUST DO IT. It's wonderfull being off the Xhit (after the dope sick is over that is) It's gonna suck, but you can do it. Look up Thomas resipe and deal...It will be OK...Then go to NA meetings

I too had a monster addiction to percocet,,what you are experiencing is the normal withdrawal side effects coming off them,,symptoms can begin within 12 hours from your last dose and consists of restless legs,,crawling outta skin feeling,,sweating,,diarrhea,,shaky feeling,,depression,,emotional outbursts from anger to crying all of a sudden and nausea/vomiting,,stomach pains,,and flu like symptoms,,stuffy head,,sneezing and runny nose. You started them for migraines you said and Im guessing that has turned into a full blown addiction,,that happens all the time. You need to look at the underlying issue as well,,are you depressed and the pills make you feel better and give you energy? That has to be addressed if you are experiencing any of that. Keep in mind too that depression is commom as these pills screw up the dopamine serotonin and norepinephrine receptors in the brain and can last months,,physcial w/d symptoms can last 1-5days at the worst then become tolerable over time. Remove that gun from your house. Please. I know that impulsive feeling that you get. If you find that you are suicidal you need to go to the nearest ER asap. They will not deny you treatment if you are in that state of mind. NA/AA meetings also are helpful you can find a list online in your area if you google it. It will pull up a where and when. You need to tell someone that your going thru this too so they can watch you. The Thomas Recipe (scroll down to lower right corner) gives you different vitamins and supplements to ease w/d symptoms. Insomnia is also another side effect. Stay close to the forum and post as you need there are great peeps here with amazing advice and endless amounts of wisdom and sobriety. ~Bkitty
