Hoping the 3rd time will work

My first two times off Percs I did CT and obviously did not work. Not sure that I can taper with 27 pills left in the bottle. I hate myself for going thru this again and again. I can't even drag myself to Church because I have let God down one more time. I have to keep trying. Please pray for me this is so hard. I have been on pain meds for 2.5 years. Percs 10-325 twice daily. I have to force myself to tell the Dr and cancel my script before I lose everything including myself. Fricken stupid, I know.

Thanks for the words as I am getting close to jumping off again. I am going to get prepped with supplies and JUMP. I have located an NA meeting place right down the street from my house and Church. What a sign..Thank u Jesus!

HI  first off your relationship with God  is fine  he rescues us from ourself ..keep your faith strong and just go for it he will be with you as he was with me  having faith in God will only give you strenth to quit....now this isent your first time you know what to expect   remember a hot soak goes a long way when your in the grip with it  force the fluids  and keep posting for suport  lastly get yourself to a N/A meeting   just google it to find one close to home  it is the mental part thats hard to do this will help with that and the meetings you wont be all alone in this will wat till your ready to pull the plug  flush the pills when your ready  good luck and God bless  I will pray God reveeles himself to you as your deliverer.....Gnarly

Hey look on the bright side-we are on the 3rd time together!  That is the devil telling you that you have let God down!!  So listen to the other voice begging and pleading that you come to church. You have been through this refill thing before too so please listen to the "right" voice.

^^^ Definitely what he said. It took me a ridiculous amount of times to stop and to not fall back into old habits, but after two years this month, I can surely say that if I stopped, you can too. I'm not a religious person, so you have that on your side. I can tell you that if I had 27 percocet's lying around two years ago, I wouldn't have been able to taper. I wish you the best, and speaking from experience, I can say that life does get and IS better without worrying about how many pills you have left. Take care.

Going to church could actually be the best thing you can do.  You didn't let God down and you thinking that is going to pull you away from your faith and faith is one of the most important thing during recovery.
I will pray for you friend and don't give up.  Failing is part of it.  As long as you learn somthing from every time you will get it eventually.  Most of us take MULTIPLE times trying, failing, and trying again and that is what you have to do.  We would not learn anything in life if we gave up so quickly.  Keep trying and I promise you can do it.  The first time I tried I didn't have any knowledge about it and failed.  The second time I tried I knew only that once I was an addict I would always be an addict and I watched it on a video.  The next time I found this website and learned a lot from it.  It still took me two years to get to where i am now and I am not perfect but over the last 7 months I have only slipt up and taken a few and although that is not a perfect record.....I don't strive for perfection, I strive for progress.  I know you want it and as long as you believe you can do it you will.  Stay strong,
Larry
