Hey look on the bright side-we are on the 3rd time together! That is the devil telling you that you have let God down!! So listen to the other voice begging and pleading that you come to church. You have been through this refill thing before too so please listen to the "right" voice.
^^^ Definitely what he said. It took me a ridiculous amount of times to stop and to not fall back into old habits, but after two years this month, I can surely say that if I stopped, you can too. I'm not a religious person, so you have that on your side. I can tell you that if I had 27 percocet's lying around two years ago, I wouldn't have been able to taper. I wish you the best, and speaking from experience, I can say that life does get and IS better without worrying about how many pills you have left. Take care.
Going to church could actually be the best thing you can do. You didn't let God down and you thinking that is going to pull you away from your faith and faith is one of the most important thing during recovery.
I will pray for you friend and don't give up. Failing is part of it. As long as you learn somthing from every time you will get it eventually. Most of us take MULTIPLE times trying, failing, and trying again and that is what you have to do. We would not learn anything in life if we gave up so quickly. Keep trying and I promise you can do it. The first time I tried I didn't have any knowledge about it and failed. The second time I tried I knew only that once I was an addict I would always be an addict and I watched it on a video. The next time I found this website and learned a lot from it. It still took me two years to get to where i am now and I am not perfect but over the last 7 months I have only slipt up and taken a few and although that is not a perfect record.....I don't strive for perfection, I strive for progress. I know you want it and as long as you believe you can do it you will. Stay strong,
Larry
