Went to the AA meeting...

I am so glad that I went. It was full of women, many of them around my age. Very uplifting and inspiring. Seems there are people who have used meds too. In any case, I'd go again. I've been afraid to go to a meeting because I am not a "group" person, but it was fine to sit there, have coffee and not feel alone. It's so easy to feel you're the only person going through these things; seeing all of those people was a relief. Thanks for the support in going from this forum!

That is so awesome!! When I relapsed this last time I decided I should go to AA.  It really does help.  This is the longest time I have been clean & I know AA had something to do with it.  Keep going back, it works if you work it. :)

"I've been afraid to go to a meeting."
Each time I confront one of those fears with success, power and freedom grow. I found that I was afraid of a lot of things without knowing it. Keep doing whatever it takes, no matter how you feel about it, then adjust as time passes. My program seems to change all the time. Glad you reached out.

That's awesome!    It's scary walking in their the first time and each time afterwards feels like a warm embrace.   It's comforting to be in a room full of people that know exactly how you feel.   :)
