The best way to rid yourself of the restlessness is hot showers/hot tubs and exercise...even if you're just walking. Keep moving.
I've invented a dance called the "WD/RLS 2-step"...when I can't sleep at night be cause I'm going through withdrawals...but need to be quiet due to my husband and step son sleeping...I stand in the living room like a crazy person...and do a simple 2 step. Just move side to side. While I watch TV and try to not go out of my mind.
Remind yourself that you are RIGHT THERE!!! You are so close to being done, do not give up.
(And stop taking the Ultram! :-)
I'm posting this because I'm concerned about your lack of information. Ultram IS a narcotic...it is a synthetic narcotic. Why do you think it "cured" your resltlessness?
Do some research, Ultram is highly more addictive than hydrocodone...stay away.
I have had trouble with restlessness, because of hydrocodone use, for 2 years. This past summer I tapered down to one half tablet of 7.5/325 four times a day; 2 lousy tablets a day, but the restlessness was just a bad as ever! So I asked my doctor for a scrip of 5/325, so I can taper down some more and a scrip for Ultram 50mg for my arthritis, also 5mg Ambien so I can sleep at night, instead of roll around in bed, due to the tingling and restlessness. I got my scrips filled last Monday Sept. 24 and took 50mg Ultram at 11am, 5pm and 11pm, and was amazed to find, I had no restlessness what-so-ever, whereas hydrocodone told me when to take a dose, by a tingling in my back, or dancing of my feet. I only take a half of Ambein at night, because Ultram causes drowsiness. No more restlessness! (I hate that word.) It is a miracle that I was able to go directly from Norco to Ultram, without more tapering. I didn't have to use the 5/325 at all. Ultram is not a narcotic, but for me, it controls the restlessness better than hydrocodone. So this what I recommend: taper down to 3 or 4 tablets a day, then switch directly to Ultram. I do not recommend Ultracet, because it contains acetaminophen, which causes restlessness in me at night, when I'm tired.
Thanks cleanitup and Sam! Have not tried the swing thing as I might look like a perv at the local playground. hahahah I don't know anything about the Hyland RLS product. I will look it up. Thanks again.
you should be rounding the corner for feeling better now-but everyone is different in how long ect. The restlessness is horrible I know and it takes time to get over it.A few ideas is just keep moving-I know at work not possible-but maybe a walk at lunch or different times during the day? Some people got a big kick out of this (Rush) that swinging on swings really help tire out the legs ect.Have you tried the Hylands products for RLS? good luck and congrats on 6 days!! H
Sorry not meaning to judge about Xanax..Sounds like you got it under control at six days you should be pretty close to the end bro except the mental part which has gotten better for me...
Keep up your fight!!!!!!!!! God bless...
Hi Sam20111966. I only take Xanax when I really have a bad day/high stress situation. Maybe one pill a week for the Xanax is all I normally would take as needed. I was taking it in larger amounts over the last few days to try and help but it did not seem to do much so I wont continue. Plus I don't want the "lack of Xanax" to cause me more anxiety. Thanks for everyone's feedback and support!
Am I over the worst part at 6 days Hydro Free?
Hydro Congrats on getting off....You will make this. If the Xanax is not helping don't take it. Work helped me is it keeping your mind busy....It could be side affect of xanax do your normally take this???? Just keep your mind busy and try and not watch the clock these drugs we use play way too much with your mind....hang in there bro u can do this you got 7 days under your belt....
Congrats really that is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Rush2112. My favorite album of all time by the way!
I cant take off any time right now so any suggestions on what I can do for the "crawling out of the skin" while at work without taking Xanax?
Thanks
Xanax is notorious for causing rebound anxiety..You take it to relieve anxiety and restlessness..but is short acting and when it wears off the anxiety and restlessness are even worse (rebound anxiety)....Nasty drug...And..HIGHLY addictive and very hard to get off of.
hey, it just comes with the territory, but will get better..can't call in sick a couple of days? the worst part is not sleeping...be careful using xanax as that is addictive too...seven continued days i believe to develop a habit...
we have all been there, trust me...i found that the really hot epsom salt bath helped a whole bunch for that...as many and as long and as hot as you can...do you have support in this? anybody around you know what's going on for you?
One additional comment. I HAVE taken 2 to 3 (.5's) at once when the restlessness wont ease up, but only for the last few days. I pray that in doing so I am not going through Xanax withdrawals that are causing the increased restlessness?
