I took for a week, because of my pain issues and it wasn't as bad, but I wasnt taking as much as you are. I would taper down :)) good luck on your promotion and I hope you get well soon!
Let's come up with a plan here...What are you going to do to be successful in stopping this insanity?
Hope u have thrown them away by now. Keep taking them the more u r prolonging the wds. Do it once and u will never have to go thru it again. The longer u keep a hold of those pills the more addiction is gonna b screaming at u. If ur serious about vetting clean then u shouldn't have anything in ur possession. No more crutches. I'm sure ur disease has already told u go ahead n take the rest and after that I'll b done. I listened to my disease telling me that. I listened for ten years. The more I took the more sick I got. Time to get well now.
Sarah,
I missed you. Thank you for your brutual honesty. You are right. I am done. WD should not be that bad. Thanks.
yes you are right. Thanks. I picked up some 30 on Friday. I still have 7 left. I am throwing them away. Thanks for the advice. You made me feel better Jordan
If you dont put down those pills you might as well kiss your promotion goodbye.
The longer you keep taking them the more wd's you will feel. Why havent you gotten rid of them?
You have a lot to celebrate and feel good about yourself.
Sounds to me like the only issue is to not fall back into abuse when legitimate pain issues arise. In other words, to cut off the pain meds when there's no longer a need, or alternatives will work.
Given your use (notice I did not say abuse), I don't think you will suffer WD symptoms much. It sounds more to me like you are psyching yourself out.
I would simply stop using the pills and tough it out. Like others said, everyone is different, but you have not really reached the level of abuse so your body is not going to be screaming for more pills.
IMO the dangers you have to be wary of, taking pills for reasons other than pain, you know the lame excuses: energy, stress, distress, big event coming up, just one more day of pills, I won't get refills, just use these, well, I am in pain, etc.
I won't sugar coat this: if you are up for a big promotion, you don't deserve it if you can't stay off drugs, like you did before. That's not how you feel, is it? So be the strong leader you are, say no to going back on drugs.
You took the pills for legitimate pain. 90 pills is a lot for pain, but not for that kind of surgery. (I had acute appendicitis AND the area got infected afterward. All totaled I was in pain for about three weeks. So taking pain meds for three weeks is reasonable, especially since any kind of surgery in that area is painful to deal with afterward.)
You are at the stage now that the pain from the surgery can probably be dealt with alternative over-the-counter meds or a non-narcotic prescription.
Of course, look at the big picture. Do you really want to go back to square one, lose the promotion, and to where these pills dominate your life? Ask anyone on the planet which path they would choose, you know that no one would choose going back to abuse.
Yeah, you might suffer a couple days of MILD WD symptoms, but I don't think they will be that bad. Certainly not severe enough to justify taking pills.
well at only 2 wks...they MIGHT not be that bad....but each WD is diff and each person....but i would say you will still have some.....just take it day by day....min by min....any way possible to take off a few more days to get thru them?? i know that you are up for promotion but that won't matter if you con't taking the pills....just hang in there..there's never really a "good" time to stop, but your life is worth so much. Hoping the WDs are minimal for you. And look into aftercare...it really does help to stay the course. Good luck and keep us updated!
Thank you for responding. I am scared I am up for a huge promotion at work, I still hurt, but I am hoping my wd are not as bad. Do you think they will be since I did not use that long??
Hi and sorry you are going thru this again! As Sara said, i agree with aftercare and also get rid of the remaining pills.....unless you are still having legit pain. Hope your WDs aren't as severe as before since you didn't use that long. It's hard as you know but you can do it! You know it will only get worse if you continue taking them for the high. Good luck and keep posting for support....The Thomas recipe has some great stuff in it for WDs....if you're not familiar with it, check it out.
yeah. i really i am goingto follow up this time. whats wierd is that i took a couple this morning, when i started to feel something coming on. i still have problems though. can these thing go in reverse??
Nice to see you back, just wish it was under different circumstances. I wouldnt focus so much on the wd's. I would pay more attention to recovery and making sure this doesnt happen again. Any plans for that?
