You have not FAILED anything...one thing you will come to learn is that people here are all in the process of recovery and staying clean. There is no final solution. We are all in a never ending process of staying clean. Please reach out if you have any specific questions on how to get clean, because I can he help. In the meantime just keep moving in the right direction...there is no failure...there are victories and setbacks, but you will will will always be an addict in some stage of recovery. Hey, it could be worse and you can look at every day clean as your own personal victory...that's what I do.
Can you specifically ask your doctor or nurse by phone to give you a referral.....let them know the urgency of getting one?
sounds right...just not sure! I was kinda out of it for a bit! :)
You will be surprised to find out the OTC meds actually work. Your pain may increase for awhile. That is called rebound pain and it will subside. It is just a nasty game our brain plays with us. Keep us posted on how it goes with your doctor.
Have you tried Ibuprofen or an aspirin? If you're allowed this type of OTC med, it can take the edge off the aches.
Hey, mini- Yup, you are supposed to feel like absolute hell. Our body's "payback" for our addiction. I can't really add much to what Gnarly wrote, but there is no escaping this part whether you do it now or later. Aftercare is the difference between people getting clean and people coming back on here saying they can't stop using.
Post as much as you want. We will be here for support.
Hi....well you really got to want it for this to work....I often say this is 1/3 phyical and 2/3 mental so be ready to fight it out on both fronts
the number 1 thing you can do to help is try to keep a positive attitude it makes the difference of being uncomfortable or suffering.....suffering is a choice.. this is a lot like the flu with some added anxiety and rls right now stock up on a case of gator aid some ez to cook meals you will have to force the fluids and eating.....I have said this a million times but you just have to be ok without being ok for a wile.. this should be your mantra for the next few days..this to shall pass.....try not to read anny thing into it it is always worst in our minds then it turns out to be.....rent a bunch of movies to watch most people dont sleep and pick up some epsom salt for the bath....a hot soak really helps with most of the symptoms you may need several a day the only way to do this wrong is to try to do it alone so post and post some more where here for support you have almost made it threw buy making it 3 days day 4 or 5 and your usually threw the phyical part of the symptoms...aftercare is a must once you start to feel human again then the mental ''mindscrew'' starts will talk more about aftercare once your detoxed......just know YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! and where here to help let us know when you start...may God be with you

Telling my doc was the first and best step I took to get clean..outside of coming here. She gave me an off label medication that is used in jail for addicts going thru withdrawal. Wish I could remember the name. It helped me so much. No concern with addiction for it.
Your doctor can prescribe clonidine which is an old B/P med that is very helpful in calming withdrawals. It's not habit forming.
Beating addiction is not about willpower. You just can't white knuckle through it and hope for the best. It's more about your mindset. Are you getting any support? Going to meetings, groups?
