Thank you very much I'm gonna go to my therapist this week and tell him. My boyfriend figured it out. He told me he knew. I'm just scared I'm taking phinergans also.

From Someone who had c/t from a benzo plus 2 other meds with it..NO-NO!! It can be so dangerous as Vicki mentioned and I had no clue. The Anxiety was the worst I have ever experienced with no sleep for over 22 days. I have c/t off of other opiates but this time it was my Methadone that was prescribed. The Benzo I took at night. The pharmacist said that the reason it took so long and was SO intense was mostly due to the Benzo..Of coarse the Dones and the Adderral did not help. I got the adderral from the streets to snort with the dones as I do not have the adhd. This would get me going. Like I said, Never have I experienced a w/d like this one and this was the first for the Benzo.
Go to the DR and get a safe taper..They also can give you one that is not as strong as the one you are on..They can go down and down and change the type of benzo so it would be less potent.
I wish you the best and please get out before you get any older and then it will be that much harder of a detox.
Bless

You need to come clean to him.  Benzo detox is tough and MUST be done slowly.  You can set up a reasonable taper plan with the doctor and have your boyfriend hold the pills to keep you on schedule.  Please be gentle with yourself.  You've had a lot of loss in your life, are you involved in any on going grief support groups or recovery like NA/AA, SMART recovery, Celebrate recovery?
You can do this lovely.  Be gentle.

Thank you for your help I really appreciate it. No the therapist isn't my boyfriend. He just has a good heart. I have no family. My mother, father, and my daughter's father have all passed in the past 11 years. That's why he helps me.

They think I take a small amount every 2 days. 4 to 6 mgs a day is what I'm taking.

For the record, it's extremely dangerous to cold turkey from ANY benzodiazepine.  These drugs MUST be tapered to avoid seizures. This is important and we here on the forum never advocate cold turkey detox from benzos. Please be careful.

Could you clarify what you mean about your therapist giving you money? I ask because it might make a difference in how you should explain this situation to him. Is your boyfriend also your therapist?

I recently detoxed from Amboen which is a benzo when it dissolve in your blood stream. I went cold turkey, but I sought the help of a rehab on day three.

For me, the worst part was the tremors. There is medication that you can use to stop them as your are detoxing, though. If your therapist can help you, I would ask about that. I cannot remember the name of the medication though. It is not a controlled substance or anything like that. It just helps your body stop shaking.

The second think I needed help with related to detox was insomnia. You very well might not have insomnia. I was taking Ambien, and that is different from other benzos. However, going through detox from opiates or benzos usually means that we have to deal with a little insomnia for a while. It has been my experience that Doxepin works really well. It is also not a controlled substance, but it is only available by prescription. My rehab doctor started me on it, and I slept easily throughout detox.

Really, going to a rehab saved me. The scary part about benzo detox is the risk for seizures. However, if you are being monitored by a doctor, you need not worry. They will help you through this. I just don't want you to cold turkey and get into a bad situation without a physician's help. If your therapist can assist you, that would be awesome.

I am not trying to scare you at all. You can do this. I did it, and so many others have done it before. The less your were taking, the better the detox will be. You might not need the help of a doctor if you were on a very low dose. But if you were taking a large dose, the best option is to detox with a doctor. I just want to be 100% honest with you so that you can go about this with as much info as possible. I feel like giving you the facts is important so that you know what steps to take to get sober.

I have detoxed of Klonopin before as well. I had the exact same symptoms as the Ambien detox. Really, the worst of it is shaking and sleeplessness. Neither of those will kill you. When I detoxed from Klonopin, I did it cold turkey without a doctor, and I was fine in about three to four days. It is all going to be OK.

Keep posting and let me know if you have anymore questions.
