Also falling asleep

Hey there Justme,
That has been happening to me as well.  For the first time in my life, I fell asleep while driving recently.  The car was set to cruise control at 120K (I'm Canadian but I think that is about 80 mph?).  Anyway, I wasn't even tired but then suddenly was asleep on the highway.  The rumble strip on the side of the highway woke me up seconds before I went off the road.  It was SO sudden and so unlike me that I am trying to be very aware of it now.  I have found myself falling asleep at the strangest times without warning so I know what you're talking about.  I'm not sure what to attribute it to but I keep a bottle of "Instant Energy" in my car now as I commute long distances on a regular basis.
I am withdrawing from years of codiene abuse- 300 mg per day and am a mother of two boys.

Wow, that's scary! So glad you weren't hurt. How long have you been in withdrawal now? Just curious if the timeframe is similar to me (2 weeks) since we both have that symptom. I'm guessing it's from not getting enough sleep at night due to the withdrawal insomnia. Be safe!

hey girlee....you really got to watch driving wile under the influence of narcotics...
your prone to nod off at the most inappropriate times ....I once mixed blood pressure
meds with methadone and nodded off at a stop light ..almost got thrown in jail over it to but they only did a breathalyzer test and I only had 2 beers that night so I passed the test...I new something was wrong right after I took the meds I got realy tired they must have reacted with the methadone...was the only driving incident I ever had on the stuff
but I can remember nodding off at many other times will under the influence of pain pills and methadone...I burned many a whole in my bathrobe smoking and nodding off
my wife actually wanted to get me tested for sleep disorders cause it was happening
at social gatherings ....the whole time it was just to much narcotics...live and learn
today im narcotic free and no longer nodd off...be really careful wile driving and if your under the influence DONT DRIVE AT ALL its a life or death thing...good luck to you and God bless....Gnarly
