Is there a Manual somewhere?

Day 4 of tapering off Oxycodone 30mg. Was taking 150mg day. Down to 80mg a day. I've been reading this Forum for answers but, there are so many different cases and answers. I have 34 pills left. I have meds on hand that I never took. 1 is Methadone 5mg and another Gabapentin 300mg. Do I start the Methadone after I run out of Oxycodone. Is there a Manual on this somewhere?

Ok thanks for the advice. Have'nt a clue what I'm doing so I really appreciate  any help. I have been on so many pills for so long. It is what my surgeons put me on in 2009. I'm tired of living in a this fog.

Do NOT EVER TAKE methadone. Gnarly can better tell u but DO NOT DO IT. U have more then enough pills to tapper then just go cold turkey but u r dragging out the withdrawls. there is no manual but u can speak with your doctor and tell he or she u r ready to quit and they can give u a tapper schedule but NO methadone. U will make it threw this. Just stay close to this forum because there are a lot of amazing people here with great advice and support.

Hi and Welcome...
Unfortunately, there is no manual and we can not give taper advice as it is against MH policy.  There are quite a few members who have tapered or are tapering, and those of us who went C/T.  Are you doing this with medical support?  Your doctor is the best one to give a tapering schedule.
Please do your research about the methadone.  I have no experience but have read on here about countless members battling to get off of it.  It has a much longer half life than the oxy (stays in your body) and is one of the hardest drugs to detox from.  When I c/t two months ago I was on a similar dose of oxy as you.  It is doable.
As you mentioned, there are many different cases and answers when it comes to opiate detox.  Arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible.  Only you can decide what is right for you.  Reclaiming your life from the pills is a powerful thing, and a huge step towards healing.  I commend you for your desire to be pill free.  They are a dead end road and you deserve to be happy.

Look up the Thomas Recipe in the health pages.  There are many vitamins and supplements I can suggest to help with the w/d symptoms.  This forum has a wealth of information and many kind, wise and compassionate members who are happy to support you.

Let us know what you need...
