addiction to hydrocodone

3 to 4 days a week I take 1 to 2 pills for a total of 3 to 8 pills a week , have been doing this for 7 years, taking for back neck shoulder pain my question is I'm I addicted to these hydrocodone pills

Hi Dawg Welcome to the forum. I have always viewed addiction as the inability to control the intake of our meds. when the Meds take priority over family life bills. Our when we take them for emotional pain. Our bodies do build a tolerance to opiates when taken for a long period of time. although you only take them 3 to 4 days a week you probably have a dependency. You must be a lil worried for you are on a addiction forum. as suggested above try not to take them for a week and see how you feel. If you become anxious have trouble sleeping with aches you will be experiencing wd it takes about 5 days to feel physically better then a couple of months of depression anxiety but we are all different some take a shorter amount of time and some a lil longer. this is just a generalization.. I have found motrin 800 works well for pain. I wish you well and Please keep posting with any questions you may have. There are a lot of things you can do to help elevate the wd.. take care. lesa

hi! i hate to tell you this but yes you are .it is possible to get off of them though i have the same addiction so i know what your going through.anytime you take hydrocodone for that long period of time you get addicted.even if you think your not you are trust me if you think not try quitting for a couple of days and you will see .the good news is 1 to 2 pills a day isnt really that bad it should be easy for you to get off them if thats what your trying to do .you will feel bad for about 5 days but then you will get better and better each day.
