For those who are struggling with addiction, and trying to become clean - it does, and will get better. Just don't make the mistake I did if you haven't already; and go through the withdrawals, then reuse. Then do the same thing over and over. Once you have made it though the Withdrawals - it's not necessarily easy from there - but with NA and some counseling sessions you CAN succeed.
I have made it 42 days - I never in my life thought I could accomplish this once my addiction to Hydro overcame my life. I know it isn't years, but like they say one day at a time. I had an NA meeting tonight and received my 30 day sobriety key chain. It isn't much, but it is a token of what I have been through, and what I have now accomplished. Honesty was the topic tonight - and I sure had a lot to say about that. When an addict, you do nothing but lie to yourself, and other, and eventually you start believing your own lies. Now being sober, I have nothing more to lie about.
It's been awhile since I posted - so thought I would share.
As my 5 year old says, "Keep Trying, Keep Trying, Don't Give Up - Don't Give Up." That's my advise to all of you struggling with addiction. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
God Bless.
