Hi everyone... I have been taking lortab 10mg for about 3years now... throughout this time i have quit and relasped several times. right now i am taking between 4and 6 of them a day and i am just plain sick of it... i took the last one that i had tonight and have made up in my mind that this is it for me... its crazy how this all started from me being prescribed this after i had dental surgery to have my wisdom teeth pulled.. i never thought in a million years that these pills would have been this addictive... in the beginning i started taking them for pain but it quickly escalated to me taking them to get high..i know that i have a problem but i dont want my family or friends to find out because i know they will judge me and i dont want to be labeled as a drug addict..I have my own business and am a single mom to two beautiful kids who i love with all my heart so as you can see i have to stop before my dirty little secret is exposed and i lose everything..i have no one that i can talk to about this so i am so happy i found this website and any advice or encouragment would be greatly appreciated..thank you

Hi Jak, it just appeared what I was trying to explain or reach out it was reported as spam. I am honest I have a problem with 10mg hydrocodone. I am sorry if I hurt anyones feeling and I never knocked anyone down in this community. Its the easy way out to just give up on ones idea, but it appeared to me above that someone reported this as spam. I did not break the law by saying that I am a recovering addict 2nd day now and tapering dosages. I saw my doctor got truthful with him and he is helping me by lowering my dosages. He now has me on 4 7.5 mg hydro a day, I see him again next week and then he is going to put me on 3 5mg hydros a day for a week, then 2 5mg a day for a week and then 1 5mg hydro for a week, then 2.5mg hydro for the last week then I start the thomas recipe, but does anyone know how much it costs to buy everything in the thomas recipe as I am not financially secure. Willing to try anything to get this monkey off of my back, and again I am sorry if I offended anyone, just trying to be normal without using so much for that feeling that I never get anyways. thanks mike in NC

Why would you report this as spam. I have a problem and wanted some suggestions. So I guess you are turning me away. All I wanted was some feedback. Maybe I am on the wrong site for help. Well, I guess from what I have just read you want to kick me off. See you all, and you wont see me on this site anymore. I will just take it as a refusal for help and keep on using. thanks a bunch,,,,

Hello.. the only solution to drug addiction is getting clean.. so you have not run out of solutions.. I do not know how long nor how much you have abused but any addict knows what it feels like to run out of meds.. I would suggest reading gathering tips on wd make yourself a quit date. Today sounds good :) and go for it.. I do not know about you but I was so sick of chasing a high that was no more. of waking up dope sick of never feeling truly right. worst of all was having my emotion tied to my addiction.. Freedom from drugs is awesome a week of being dope sick is a small price to pay.. AA NA are free and very beneficial for support.. the forum is a great place also for support but ultimately it is up to you to make a decision and stick with it. You can do it !!! Keep posting and asking questions.. sooner or later one or many suggestions will help you find that resolve.. lesa  Reported Report this Spam

10356 said it perfectly.  There are options.  There is some great advice in the health pages on the top right of this page that will give you pointers on the best way to withdrawal and suppliments that you can take that will ease the symptoms.  The Thomas Recipe is good and read the Amino Acid Protocol.  Keep posting, lots of people here have been right where you are at and can help support you through this.    Reported Report this Spam

tapering was hard for me ..worrying about how many i was gonna take that day made me take even more...i was at 100mgs trying to taper..i would take 130 mgs and be so upset with myself...i finally did CT and took 4 days off work...got it done..stocked up on the aminos and supps...tried to exercise at least 20 minutes each day...barely made it day 1..but i did 20 minutes and day 4 i was up to an hour on the treadmill...i flushed every pill...told my dr i didnt want them anymore//no big story just that i didnt want them anymore..i told my dealer i lost my job..never heard from him again....and i made it...and u can do...many addicts can not taper///a few with discipline can...but the definition of addiciton is loss of control over ur doc...and tapering means taking control//taking control over sumpin u can not control//then we feel like losers cos we cant do the impossible

handing the pills over to someone u can trust helps//but i could still cheat cos i knew where to get em...writing out a schedule/picking a QUIT day and sticking to it no matter how bad u screw up the taper can help..there is a great article on how to taper in the health pages..but many think a taper is wd free and most often this is not true..it can lessen them a bit if u go real slow/which is hard to do/but u still feel em..to me it just drew out the inevitable...but we r all different..and how u get it done doesnt matter/as long as u get it done

Thank you for your support. I am just worried as I start a new job tomorrow and there is NO way that I can call in sick on my first day. I will have to knuckle it out, take vitamins, drink plenty of water, take a klonopin when it gets bad, immodium AD, prayer, meetings, councelor, psychiatrist and any support I can get. I have taken so many pills that they are no longer effective with my lower back disc pain. I over did it, and I always have over did myself. I cannot discipline myself to take the right dose. I see 60 pills in a bottle and within 4 days they are gone! Now thats just plain sick. And I cannot see any docs as they have your name in a data base and they got you. That was a stupid little pastime was to search for doctors all around town and give them the sob story of my disc problem. Well, I have visisted every doctor in town and out of town, gone to several emergency rooms that would make your head spin off. I dont know if I am trying to control the pain in my back or if I am trying to fight off deep emotional pain from the past, like the divorce of 28 years, both parents passing away back to back last year, the loss of a home due to the market, the car being repossed due to a very high payment that I could not longer afford after my divorce, my terrible childhood, low self esteem, anxiety, depression and on and on. It felt as if the pills took that away but after a while the pills did not work no matter how many I took at one time. I have to find the root of the cause and get to work before worse things happen to me. But I need your support, and I could not have picked up a much better site as we can relate and feel each others pain and anguish. Its time to move on, but I have to fight the fight again. thank you all very much for your support. Mike in NC  Reported Report this Spam

u will have our support...as long as u stick with us...u are welcome to pm me anytime u need to for support..i check in daily
Do you go periods without using now?  just asking cos u stated u took em pretty quick if they r there....and if ur body is used to going without then it will be a bit easier as far as wds go

I would not pick my QUIT day on the first day of my new job...just wouldnt be conducive for me to try that..but we r all different...u can be making plans to get this done..if u can control a taper or hand them to someone..then perhaps u can work on that...even taking smaller doses frequently thru the day gets the brain ready...ie...a person who takes 5 puill twice a day will have it rougher than one who takes 2 pills 5 x a day....i am not sure what ur average daily dose is/or if u go days without pills as it is....both of these would be important to get an idea of what to expect..and even then/wwe r al different

best to pick a weekend or some down time to quit...alot also depends on the type work u do...if u can hide out etc..but a new job is always stressful for most..but tapering down as best u can and getting mentally ready can be working urself up and getting ready to let go...even beginning aftercare right now and posting here can help...just make a plan...and post often  Reported Report this Spam

Hi I am an addict who was clean for a long time but last year my son was very ill....I turned to my old trusted friend/enemy to get me through...vicodin.  I have been taking them tow to two abd a half weeks at a time. I have been taking up to 7 ten mill a day and then because I run out and have to wait for the refill I deal with the withdrawal.  I told my husband today and am giving him the refill info so I can't refill them. I am terrified....I know this week especially will be hard. Actully I know that this will be hard forever...any suggestions on how to get through this pysically? Supplements that might help....I know the hardest part for me is the severe fatigue and depression that follows....I am so disappointed in myself I could scream. Anyone have an answer that I might not have heard before?
