Lets hear some success stories

I have been addicted to vicodin in the past.  Last year on New Years Eve I decided enough was enough and quit cold turkey.  I had a few days off of work and decided to bunker down and quit cold turkey.  I did so and ended up running in a 5 mile race on St. Pat's day.  I decided that I couldn't sit around and feel sorry for myself so I started hitting the gym right away.  I figured sweating and working out would be a big benefit to rapidly help with the withdrawl symptoms.  After just 3-4 days I was feeling much better.  Getting in the gym, running a mile just to start and making myself go to the gym really helped me.  I started taking the pain pills because I had a torn rotator cuff from years of playing ball.  I had to have two surgeries in two years on my shoulder.  I have since started taking the dumb pills again.  Tomorrow I start over at day 1.  I am determined to quit this time and no turning back.  I am going to wake up early before I start feeling the effects of the withdrawls, hit the gym, run a few miles and have a nice long sit in the sauna.  I have immodium ready for the stomach issues that are sure to follow.  I have a bottle of tylenol to help with the headaches.  My biggest problem quitting is the restless legs that I get.  I have a big week of work ahead of me and a really busy holiday season.  I am getting married on 1/1/11 to a girl I am very much in love with.  I am determined to hit the gym hard again and be aggressive with my withdrawls.  I am not going to sit around and wait on them I am going to kick their ***.  I am out of pills and have no way of getting any more refills.  My doctor knows of my issue now so no more pills.  For everyone who is going through the same issues I challenge you to do the same.  If possible do something physical.  Make yourself sweat and workout.  Now any suggestions that will help with the restless legs and getting some sleep would be greatly appreciated as those are the two things I dread the most.  Let's all kick this SH!T.  We got ourselves here lets all work together and get ourselves back to the good people that we once were.  Merry Christmas everyone and a Very Happy New Year VICODIN FREE.

Appreciate the feedback gnarly.  I am going to have to try the restless leg medicine this time.  I am more p!ssed at myself than anything.  I am hoping to put my anger to use in aggressively fighting this.  I haven't been back on them very long.  I have taken them for about a month now so hopefully I can get through the withdrawls and back on my feet by my wedding day.  I can't keep doing this to myself.  I am going to seek after care this time. I don't want to continue this cycle over and over again.  Withdrawls are he!! but they are temporary.  I am ready for the challenge and I am determined for this to be the last time I have to deal with them.  I have been drinking a lot of water today.  I also haven't been taking a very heavy dosage.  In trying to get in shape for our cruise wedding I have been pushing it a bit too hard in the gym which caused my shoulder pain to come back.I need to get a better understanding of the limits my body has.  This website has been a God Send.  I really enjoy reading all the success stories of everyone who has kicked their problem and plan to be the next success story on here.  God Bless everyone on here.
