Lost One of my dogs,Possible depression

Hey All ,,Day 18 proved to be one hell of a test,,I had to put to sleep one of my beloved dogs ,she was only 5 yrs old ,she had ingested a chicken bone and it ruptured her Stomach,,she was Suffering terribly ,But We ,the Vet could not save her,,,,,My Help and I buried  her      here at the farm,,we poured a pint of Jameson's Irish Whiskey  over the Grave to chase the Devil Away and Let him know she has an Irish Lasses Pass to Heaven,,I'm from an Irish upbringing.....I did not do anything stupid,like try to get my tram script back but I did drink some wine and took a sleeping pill,,,,,feel very Depressed today ,don't think its the WD's but Normal grieving,,Saturday is a Heavy Lesson Day So I have to Snap out of it.............This is Day 19 almost a full 3 weeks,,,,,,I Hope I am an Inspiration to anyone out there starting to Jump Over the Cliff of WD's from Tram,,,,You Can do it ,just hang in there

Sis, very sorry to hear of your dog. I am also Irish, long line of Fagan's & Garvin's. I know how you feel, very hard. I have been there a few times both with old age and sudden accident. I had to say goodbye to my Terrior not long ago, she was 18, lived a good long life, not a very smart dog, but a sweetheart. I think the dumber ones live longer...just my thought. Damn chicken bones...again very sorry. ct

Please be very very careful with the alcohol and sleeping pills.  We can switch up addictions very quickly.    sara

Im so so sorry for your loss, you are an amazing woman for really feeling amd not masking.

hang in there.   You did the correct thing.          You will have many fond memories and as time pasess it get a little bit easier.        (i lost my beloved cat 5 years ago- he was only 8-I know the pain very well)

Sara and fluffy I just wanted to tell you both how sorry I am for your losses as well.  And sara you put it very well - using isn't an option, and feeling is.  I hope you both stay well and please just let yourself grieve.  This is so hard, I know.  Just know there are people in the world who care about you and love you.  You both are very strong.  I hope you find some peace today.

So sorry for your loss. I understand how you feel. I had to put my kitten daisy asleep, she was very sick and had a hard time breathing. You did the most humanely & heart breaking decision. Hang in there, I know the greiving part is hard to deal with, but it will pass, trust me. Let your heart win and not the pills, you are doing great.

I am so very sorry about your loss.  2 weeks ago i had to put down my beloved beagle.  She was 13, had cancer and crossed that line into suffering.  I loved her enough to let her go.  This is no easy task to say goodbye to our babies.  The emotions are raw, the pain runs deep and the tears seem to be non stop.  Let yourself feel these emotions as this will be a grieving process.  Using isnt an option, feeling is~~~~I wish you comfort at this time~~sara

     I am so sorry about your dog I love my dogs so much! I understand how heartbroken you must be. Allow yourself to be sad because without drugs you have real feelings. Your dog was so blessed to have you and you are a wonderful person. You will get through this and once again I am so sorry.

Oh man, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am sis4478 - I understand your pain and sorrow, as I too am a huge animal lover.  They ARE members of our family and when they pass, the loss is huge.  I am so so sorry.

I'm glad you stayed strong - you are an inspiration.  Allow yourself to grieve this loss and just keep going.  Again, I'm so very sorry.  I wish there was something more I could say.

So sorry about your dog. Thats hurts when you lose a pet. They are a member of the family. Try to hang tough. 19 days is great!
