Hi there. I did the same thing when I was trying to use Suboxone to get off pain pills... as soon as the withdrawals hit from the Sub detox, I resorted to pills. Now here I am tapering off pain pills... Getting off opiates with opiates just didn't work for me, so I'm going to stick with the pill taper and deal with the pain along the way. I would think as long as you have something in your system, you aren't going to have full-blown cold turkey withdrawals. What's done is done, so don't beat yourself up. There's no quick fix. And there's no getting around withdrawal symptoms... but I think tapering makes for a much softer landing. Can you stop the pills and go back to methadone, and taper off that (maybe this time slower)? Or do you have anyone to help administer pill dosages, so you can slowly get off those? I hear you on money. That stress just makes it more terrifying. It you can afford to get through 2-3 more weeks and lean on someone to phase you out, let that financial pressure be your will to QUIT for good. You can do it! When you are clear-headed, you'll be able to search for new work and go on interviews... should your company go under. It sounds like you've hit a point where you have to act. Hardships can be blessings in disguise. I wish you all the best!
You're not an idiot, you're an addict. Detox does not lend itself to clear thinking or decision making. That's why I built a strong aftercare before I really hit full detox. I really believe it takes more than will-power and knowledge to get and stay clean for many people, including me. What are you doing for aftercare?
I did the same thing...I thought the Percocet could help me get through the methadone withdrawal...I'm here to tell you...it doesn't. All it did for me was prolong the inevitable. You can do this though! Especially if you were able to drop down to 6 mgs. My advice is to get rid of all the other pills you have, don't buy anymore, cut ties with who you do buy them from, and just get it over with. I know it's easier said than done, but if I can do it, anyone can!! I'm 33 days off, and still have some withdrawal effects, but the light at the end of the tunnel IS starting to get brighter. Good luck!!
oh and to add to the problem my company is probably about to go bankrupt and riding the sinking ship to the end, im under enormous stress, i can barley make ends meet with my job which ive been at 11 years, thats the main reason i quit the MMT program because i dont have the money, but ive already spent enough on pain pills to equal a month of methadone, im so ******!!
