Methadone Withdrwal Horror

My boyfriend has been heavily addicted to vike ES * somas for over 15 years. He was then presccribed methadone for pain. After he adjusted to the methadone at about 40mg, he started abusing them. He grAdually went up and up and up to sometime over a whopping 300mg methdone daily. Hes been on the 'done for 3-4 years now. He'll take as much as he can, throughout 3-4 times a day, to 300+mg (day).
Not only that.  He resumed his vike es haBit also, to about 10 pills day.
Hes run out of EVERYTHING for now and tho he tapered down over about a week, he is feeling simultaneously hot and cold, his leg shakes sometimes, he's just sick sick. Any air conditioning feels like it's minus 100degrees. Then he gets hot.
He tried the done clinic and they did not believe him or care and they put him on only 20mg mdone day. He was absolutely furious going thru wd's and the 20 mg did nothing. But that was a year ago. He's going cold turkey now, absolutely refuses treatment, because of his privacy.
Actually, from what I read here, his seems the most extreme of all, and, oddly, IMO, he's not doing as bad as I read others are.
Please help. As I said he refuses treatment for 15-20 years. I know he won't. He is also out of all benzos to even take the edge off.
One more thing: he said the 'done wd are so much easier on his stomach than the vike wd's.

HI and welcome to the forum....all I can say is WOW he's got a huge habit and if he's been taking upwards of 300mg of methadone a day his withdrawals are going to get progressively worst for the first 2 weeks....methadone is not like pills you dont break free in a week or so....the withdrawal is long and hard...I was on 150ml of it and tapered off over 8 1/2 mo and was sick sick for a month..it took a good 90days to even start to really feel better...+ he has the hydro addiction as well as somas and benzo's nether one of those is sopost to be C/T off of you can risk seizures...where all about doing it your self on this forum but I feel your in need of a minimum of a dr supervision with the benzo's and somas...the methadone is going to be horrific at that dose and he's not even going to feel the worst of it for several days because of the high dose and the long 1/2 life of methadone I dont often recommend a professional detox but in this case I think it would be best..your talking about life and death here if he keeps abusing high doses of methadone hydros somas and benzo's this is like rolling dice every time he takes this combo...it only takes one time for the body to go into respiratory failure
and these combo's are famous for that...its eazy to forget how many somas you take...I have been there done that..one mistake mixed with methadone and you dont get a second chance...I hope you realize just how dangerous this is we are litterly talking life or death here....this is nothing to mess with get him to a detox b/4 your taking him to a funeral home...if you call around and get a social worker involved you can find a free detox center in most citys...we will support you in what ever you decide...I hope and pray its not a home detox this will be a horrific experence at best
at worst it could land him in an emergency room with seizures or in a coma..I wish I could tell you home detox would work out but when its this bad its best to seek out professional help wile you still can...he is truly teetering on the edge of life at this point the addiction has to end and will one way or another lets hope its because you choose to get help....good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
