Mixing meds with alcohol

My cousin has bee and addict most of her life, she is 43.  She has been clean for about 6 years now and recently I noticed a decline in her.  She has said in passing that she is taking vicoden and xanex.  I didn't think this was a good idea.  At a BBQ she looked high and I called her out the next day because she was also drinking beer.  She has totally denied that she was messed up and then proceded to yell at me that she is taking anti depressants also, "maybe thats why her eyes looked that way but she was not messed up"  I told her she should have not been drinking while taking these meds and then driving with her 6 year old.  I dont know what to do cause now I am the bad guy but not the only one who noticed.

My goodness, I'm surprised she didn't have a blackout mixing Xanax and alcohol. Good thing you called her out. Maybe it will help her to realize what she is doing and that it's not a secret like she may think.

Well you are right to be concerned. Vics, xanax and alcohol are not a good combo. Until she realizes that she has a problem, there is not much you can do about it.
I always thought video recording somebody and playing it back at a later time was a good idea.
