My skin's on fire

I stopped taking vicodin 10 days ago.  I wasn't taking that much at all, in fact I feel kind of funny even posting (my first time), when I have read what others have taken and what they are going through.  I was only taking 10mg ONCE a day, but have been for a year.  Still doesn't sound like much at all, but I decided to quit cold turkey and can't believe what I'm going through. I thought it would start out really bad and just get better a day at a time, but the first few days were not bad, mentally worse than physically.  But after the 3rd or 4th day it got really bad physically.  The sweats, chills, blurry vision and worse than anything else a horrible skin sensitivity.  Feels like my skin is burning, usually my arms, but can be legs, chest, face flushing.  Clothes feel horrible against my skin, which is bad because I will get so cold if I don't have a couple of layers on.  Also, it doesn't get better day to day.  It will be ok or pretty good one day and the next day horrible.  So it's more of a day to day thing and never knowing from one day to the next.  Granted, it's only been 10 days but has anyone else experienced this?

I agree with Jimmy and that you should see a doctor. Even if someone is on a low dose they can still have withdrawals. But withdrawals from vicodin are felt around 12 to 24 hours after taking your last pill. I wonder if you have some other health issue that they vicodin was covering up? I would go get a check up.

Many people who go through withdrawals feel the worst of them through day 5 or so. They then feel that they are in the clear but a few days later get hit with another small wave of withdrawals. This could be the case with you but what's different about it is you didn't feel any physical withdrawals even at first. Most who get the second wave of withdrawals say they are uncomfortable but they aren't as bad as the first 5 days.

It very well could be withdrawals, but like mentioned before, go see a doctor and explain what has been going on just to be safe.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Wow ! That's a really low dose to be going threw that but I'm sure its possible ! I was only taking three 10/500 a day and was threw with the physical stuff in days . The mental was the worse part for me also ..I have never heard in my years on MedHelp of someone going threw all that on such a low dose .I would really see a doctor about your symptoms as I really don't have a clue of why you're having such a sever reaction to stopping on that dose . Maybe if we keep bumping you to the top someone might have a better answer for you . Good luck to you ..Jimmy
