Need some hlp with co codamol

Hello folks.   I'm looking for som advice on trying to come off codeine
I've been taking codeine for muscle pain for about 3 years 30/500
It started fine until the tablets stopped working  so I started to double up
Now I'm at the point where I can take up to 30 to 40 a day
It takes about 10 to 15 just to get to sleep

I really want to stop taking them now as the pain went away about a year ago and it's controlling my life

I work everyday and have a 3 year old daughter  and nobody knows about my problem
I need some advice on how to stop them I tried just stopping but that's not an option
I've took a few weeks of work to try and fix this

Also I not want it on my medical records due to work. I'd lose my job

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Hey!  Great that you have some time off!  You won't even need that much time, although it's something many people wish for!  You will feel pretty rough for a few days, but the good thing is that codiene is pretty weak compared to stopping some of the bigger guns!  You have a chance here to not start any of those and to stop before it gets any worse.  The bad news is that you're taking a lot of pills at a time, and you're at risk to overdose if you aren't careful.  Plus......it's so hard on your liver.  Have you discussed any of this with a doctor?  Would you be willing to get help?  Also, you need to think about some kind of aftercare so this doesn't happen again!  But....gotta get through detox first!

You'll get a bunch of support around here!  It's a good place to start!  : )

Hi there- If you took two weeks off from work you have plenty of time to stop the pills and somewhat get over wd's.

What happened the last time you stopped? Have you ever stopped for 3 days?
