Yes you can do this. I know I had trouble making that final jump too, the first time. I cut pills in half and even in quarters and took them when it got rough.
Just don't stop trying. When you're ready, you will do it.
Don't be afraid to post and let us know how you are feeling. You are probably feeling discouraged right now. We've been there.
Hugs
Yes Bets-
If you want to do this, REALLY want to do this- you've gotta get rid of the pills because temptation will be too high while detoxing and then you're back to square one. If you really want off this merry go round you need to tell your doctor that you're done with the pills, want to manage your pain in alternative ways, and then get rid of the pills and just go through it. Your dose is not terribly high and your use is not that long so expect 4-7 days of flu like symptoms which can be helped by all the things that the lovely people above have posted.
The most important thing though is that you really want to be clean.
Sending support...

Thank you for checking on me. I'm not doing very well. I had to take one yesterday. I don't believe i'm strong enough to not give in.
I'm going to continue one day at a time. I know it can be done because I'm fortunate to have read it on other posts on this website. So, Thanks to everyone....... for giving me hope!!!
Very Good CIK..When are they going to take that one off that has the benzo??
I did not do the Recipe..I did my own thing and I still do..YOU will find what vit/min and such help with energy and some for sleep or relaxing the muscles. Magnesium, Potassium, Ds & Calcium are really good for relaxing the muscles. You can get one called Muscle-Mag or Relaxa-Mag from Wellness Resource. I have been ordering from them and a few others because it is more natural and pure. I can say the company on here because after I was on here for awhile, I did notice they advertise on this site. Wishing you the best!

Hey Bets....here's our re-posted version of the Thomas Recipe:
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Addiction/Thomas-Recipe-Re-Posted/show/16?cid=66
The one we have here does NOT include the use of a benzo...where the one you may read on the internet somewhere else does.
Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Hi Bets
Just checking in to see how you're making out. Don't hesitate to post if your having any symptoms you're concerned about or just feel like talking.
Congrats.
Thank you so much. Although i do still experience pain. i feel like i can tackle them with over the counter pain killers. I'm very grateful you taking the time to reply. I've never heard of The Thomas Recipe, and i'm looking forward to checking it out.
I have read some post's in this forum, and your right, there are tons of helpful hints.
Again, Thank you so much!!
Hi bets, welcome to the forum. Are you being prescribed the Hydrocodone by your doctor? Are you still experiencing pain? If so, you should talk to your doctor about quitting and how to deal with any pain. You can either quit cold turkey, and you will experience flu like symptoms for about a week. Or, you can slowly taper down your usage over time. This will help lessen the withdrawal symptoms, but honestly tapering is difficult to do. In my opinion, your dose isn't that high and I would probably quit cold turkey and be done with it. There are things you can do to help lessen the withdrawal symptoms. Check out the Thomas Recipe the link is at the bottom of the page for some suggestions. Also, read this forum. There is a ton of information, and support. Keep posting with any questions you may have. We can definately help you along the way. Best wishes! Congratulations on your decision to quit.
