You should go.  I know a lot of people who went when they were still using.  I know I have gone at least a couple of times while 'under the influence' ... sometimes people will be really welcoming and inviting but it depends on the meeting.  I believe at all meetings you will be encouraged and you will hear at least one thing that really resonates with you.  you should go!  hope it's a good experience for you!

So there are lots of meetings by my house so I guess I'm going to go . But I'm scared to go by myself. What do you think? I'm just tired of being sick and tired. I need encouragement or this won't happen and I have no one but myself.

I always loved the Open Speaker AA meetings. Usually Saturday night by me. Someone will tell their stories. It is awesome to hear. Anyone can go.

Of course you can!!  AA and NA are for people wanting to quit, trying to quit or who have quit.  You work the steps, have a safe place to go if you are tempted, learn how to deal snd live sober and get experiences/advice.

I have heard things about NA. Many prefer AA. If one place is not good, try another meeting or location. Don't let anyone discourage you.

Do they look down on you ? What happens do other addicts just tell stories ? I'm needing help and what I'm doing just isn't working so I need a plan but I need someone to help me I can't do this alone it's just not working.

Hi  the only requirement for N/A is the desire to get clean they usually ask that you dont speak if you have used but reserve the last 5 min for burning desires for those that are still in the struggle it will be very helpful to join the progam ....Gnarly

I love N/A. . It saved my life and is teaching me how to live life on lifes terms.
You can go to your 1st mtg on the norco, but it is suggested that the next one, you be clean. Ive seen people do it...we get there how we get there....but i promise u, u will hear exactly what u need to hear to where going to that next mtg clean wont be as hard.. .if that makes sense?
